    He is practically royalty in Canada, being a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and a beloved All Star catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays. In fact, he was the last "original" member of the Jays. But his story started in suburban Detroit and dipped down into Southwest Virginia. He was actually drafted by the Red Sox, not the Jays. His story is fascinating, fun and full of highlights.
