Many thanks to Vanessa and Dr. George Naum for joining me on "The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner!"
For more than 25 years, Vanessa and George have volunteered as marriage coaches. George also had a long career as a family physician. My guests’ passion for helping couples navigate marriage has evolved into a full-time job and given birth to a thoughtful new book, “What’s Forever For?” In the book, they draw from their personal experiences and those they have counseled.
Please join us for this 25-minute interview to learn more about the potential pitfalls of physician marriages and strategies to avoid and overcome them.
You can reach Vanessa and George at their website: Best Friends Again. I think the title of their website tells a lot! Their work is inspired by their faith in God and desire to help those whose marriages falter.
Dr. Naum’s book, “What’s Forever For?” is available at : Best Friends Again and Amazon.com.

"Fatal Intent" a novel by Tammy Euliano, MD

"Fatal Intent" a novel by Tammy Euliano, MD

Many thanks to Tammy Euliano, MD, for joining me on “The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner.”
Dr. Euliano has had a multifaceted career as a clinical anesthesiologist, researcher, residency program director, inventor, medical device company entrepreneur while also finding time to raise a family. Now a tenured professor, she dumped her less appealing administrative duties to devote two full days a week to writing.
Tammy is the author of the newly released medical thriller, “Fatal Intent.” While writing, she fell in love with her characters to the extent that she has already written a sequel, “Misfire,” scheduled for publication in January 2023! A third novel in the Kate Downey Medical Mystery Series is also in the works.
To get all the details, please listen to our 20-minute interview!
For writing excerpts, more information on “Fatal Intent”, or to contact the author, visit her website: www.teuliano.com

A "Newscript" for your medical career: An interview with John Jurica, MD

A "Newscript" for your medical career: An interview with John Jurica, MD

Before I introduce my wonderful guest, Dr. John Jurica, I'm excited to announce that this is the first episode of "The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner" with a bona fide sponsor, CompHealth!

CompHealth was the first locum tenens staffing agency in the USA and was also the first staffing agency I used many years ago. If you are a physician looking for a new job or considering locum tenens for the first time, make sure to check out CompHealth. I appreciate the personalized experience I have with my recruiter who is dedicated to my specialty and knows my needs and goals. CompHealth also offers full-time, permanent jobs if you are looking for a longer-term switch. For more information, check out Comphealth.com.

It's a pleasure to welcome back John Jurica, MD. John has worked as a family practice physician, hospital chief medical officer, and urgent care doctor. Currently, he is an incredibly diligent podcast host (>200 episodes) and leader in the nonclinical and alternative career space for physicians.
John's a returning guest to "The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner." He was brave enough to appear on Episode #7, where we discussed my favorite topic of locum tenens. John was kind enough to invite me to speak about locum tenens on his podcast as well: https://nonclinicalphysicians.com/physician-nonclinical-careers-podcast/
John is here today to share his expertise about nonclinical and nontraditional options for physicians dissatisfied with their current careers and/or income. John created the Nonclinical Career Academy that offers courses for physicians. John also offers Mastermind sessions where small groups of physicians work together to address professional challenges.
Recently, together with Tom Davis, MD, John created "Newscript," a community of healthcare professionals looking to learn about nonclinical and nontraditional career options. It's a fee-based membership-only app, which keeps it confidential and focused. Members can post questions or helpful information 24/7. The site features mentors on different topics, and I'm honored that John selected me to share my locum tenens expertise.
To learn more about nonclinical careers and John's excellent new app, "Newscript," check out our 20-minute discussion.
You can contact John through his website: https://nonclinicalphysicians.com

The Seismic Shift in Leadership: an interview with Michelle Johnston, PhD

The Seismic Shift in Leadership: an interview with Michelle Johnston, PhD

It's a pleasure to welcome Michelle Johnson, PhD, to "The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner." Michelle is a management professor, leadership expert, and author of "The Seismic Shift in Leadership."
Michelle earned a PhD in Communication from Louisiana State University and is Gaston Chair of Business at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. She's been teaching for more than 20 years and is an executive coach specializing in CEOs. Through her work, she recognized a "Seismic Shift" in leadership styles has become necessary to succeed in today's world.
To write the book, she profiled a diverse group of executives that included global business leaders and high-level hospital administrators. She observed that the authoritarian "command and control" style no longer served leaders as it had in the past. She discovered that traditional "cultures of fear" failed to lead to innovation and positive results. Instead, collaboration and "intentional connection" have become keys to successful leadership. Michelle reports great stories to illustrate her thesis.
To learn more, check out our 30-minute discussion about "The Seismic Shift in Leadership."
