Ep 91- Appeal to Authority Fallacy in the Fitness Industry
In this solo episode, Dr. Will and Anthony discuss the fallacies of logic when people consider fitness approaches within the industry.
Discussing biomechanics, the evolution of fitness methods over time, how scientific institutions limit their drive for innovation within their field, how lazy thinking can be problematic insofar as it leads to people outsourcing their beliefs to so-called 'experts'. Ep 90- Bret Contreras smack-talks a GOATA Coach, Dr. Will Responds
In a recent IG exchange, Karlee Owens (@coach.karlee) made a post saying that hip thrusts were a less-than-optimal/unsafe exercise for training the glutes because of the compressive forces experienced on the spine.
She used a video of Bret Contreras coaching a hip thrust in her video, which caused Bret to respond with his own reaction video, where he dismissed Karlee's ideas as fearmongering and pseudo-biomechanics.
We look at some of Dr. Will's commentary response and go deeper into the rationale and reasoning behind some of his positions, and argue that when it comes to regular function and biomech, glutes do not find themselves CONCENTRICALLY contracted very often.

Ep 85- KneesoverToesguy Ben Patrick vs Joel Seedman's 90 degree training
In today's episode, we dig into the training philosophies of Joel Seedman's 90 degree eccentric-isometric style training against Ben Patrick (AKA Kneesovertoesguy)'s philosophy of long and short range training as practiced in the ATG system.
We also obviously equate it to niche biomech/functional fitness stuff.

Art of Move 87 - Reacting LIVE to Naudi Aguilar's Challenge to Liver King after PED Controversy
Liver King's been busted for something that we all knew all along. It's not that he's been taking PED's that's the controversy - it's the idea that he lied about it in order to profit financially from his "larger than life" public image.
In his recent public apology, he claimed that his increase in popularity in the social media/online sphere did not bolster his profits with his supplement companies, etc...
Naudi Aguilar, founder of Functional Patterns issued a challenge to Brian Johnson (Liver King) to release and disclose his P&L (profits and loss) statements to prove unequivocally that he's telling the truth, and not just trading one lie for another. He also makes some great points about how within the fitness industry, people duping gullible consumers is not a new act, and has been going on for ages (and isn't showing signs of slowing down).
We break it down in philosophical, ethical, political, and economic terms, offer our perspective on the ethics, and react live to the video where Naudi issued his challenge to Liver King... let us know your thoughts!

Ep 86: Duck Feet or Straight Feet?
On today's episode, we talk about a few nuances of foot positioning in mechanics of gait; while some camps like GOATA and OKF insist that feet-straight positions are essential for efficient energy transfer, observation about elite sprinters and athletic frames aren't always conducive to that idea.
From there, the conversation explores man different other ideas like how we identify with our physical practices and more.
