The Attic Monologues is a queer urban fantasy/horror podcast distributed by Planar Prod on fate, friends to lovers, meta narratives, and the importance of feathered friends.
The show follows Nyx Ryland, a nonbinary university student who discovers a strange collection of monologues in their attic. But these monologues are strange, and dreamlike, and the more Nyx reads, the more it becomes evident that things are not as they seem. These monologues are not just paper and ink, the world is not what they knew, and the people they love just might be in danger - or the danger itself.

Customer Reviews
Captivating
The monologues themselves are beautiful - haunting, mysterious vignettes grounded by lovely prose. Right away, the characters of the frame narrative have such a charming dynamic, and I can't wait to see their relationship grow. There's definitely an interesting hook in the frame, too, making the show a bundle of lovely mysteries wrapped in an encompassing, engrossing question. I don't often re-listen to podcasts, but I have a feeling that this is one I'll return to.
Good writing but the Audio levels need to be fixed
I’m really interested in this podcast the concept and the writing is really good but the audio is very quiet. I have to turn up the volume all the way and even then it’s still quiet I have to pause it every time I walk by a car or leaf blower or anything making a lot of noise on my walk.
Haunting Writing, Iffy Audio Quality
So I think I was 4 episodes in thinking this would be a good background anthology podcast. But I had to go back and relisten because the monologues are dramatic, well-written, and relatable. The characters get better as they’re more fleshed out.
My only issue is the levels and audio quality. I have my headphones at 90% volume and have a hard time hearing.
Looking forward to finishing up the series and hoping for a season 2.
