It’s Thursday and there is a lot more than cars to talk about…but cars too. We break down Teslas earnings report as a key indicator of the EV market. We also welcome a next gen Kentucky Dealer, as well as a much deserved delay of game at one GM plant. 


Yesterday came with mixed news during Tesla’s earnings call as its stock price fell 7% on the news that the company missed earnings targets for the second quarter in a row, losing about $50B in market value.. CEO Elon Musk also confirmed the plans for launching a low-cost electric vehicle in late 2025, starting production in Texas and expanding to Mexico. Musk emphasizes profound changes in both vehicle design and manufacturing processes needed to produce the new entry-level vehicle potentially priced between $25,000-$30,000.Production will initially start in Texas for engineering proximity, with plans to expand to northern Mexico and another non-North American location. Musk said “We’ll basically be sleeping on the line.”"The problem for Tesla is any significant attempt to boost sales from here on will probably need to be achieved at the cost of further falls in operating margin, due to having to compete with BYD in China, as well as increased competition elsewhere," said Michael Hewson, chief market analyst at CMC MarketsFollowing Tesla's announcement, over 10 brokerages increased their price targets, with four enhancing their overall outlook. The median target price is now set at $225, representing a nearly 9% rise from the last closing share price.Today we’re celebrating a member of the next generation of Dealers as Kate Faupel Grealish, who grew up in the automotive industry, takes a significant step by acquiring her own dealership, Kate Faupel Ford in Henderson, Kentucky.She’s the daughter of dealer Ron Faupel, transitions from her role at Henderson Chevrolet GMC to owning Kate Faupel Ford. She started working there at age 15. Most recently, she has been the GM of the store since 2021, now she has her own store. Grealish's journey reflects a blend of family tradition and personal ambition, highlighted in her statement to Evansville Living magazine: “It’s pretty cool. It’s a lot of pressure, I’m not going to lie.
