However, there are ways to pull yourself out of the darkness and lift yourself up when you need it most. Sarah and Emelda address the myths about why giving yourself grace can lower your productivity. These two mindfulness coaches speak about how to overcome the challenge of simply taking a pause and showing up for yourself. Why Self-love Deficit Disorder is the New Codependence and Other Supports for Relationships After Trauma

Why Self-love Deficit Disorder is the New Codependence and Other Supports for Relationships After Trauma

In this episode, Sarah introduces a new "disorder" experts are getting behind and spearheading a movement to include in the DSM. Self-love Deficit Disorder shows up when we ignore our own needs to fill other people's needs. SLDD also looks like a struggle to understand what your emotions are and express them to others. These are also the qualities attributed to codependence, however, listen and learn why the term "codependence" might be outdated. We can all gain from more self-love but how do we support ourselves to be more self-accepting and prioritize our own needs? Listen and learn how you can be more mindful of how your past has set you up to ignore your needs and how you can heal and change.

Listen!

I’m typically not interested in podcasts of this genre, but this podcast is very different than the mainstream mindfulness podcasts. The conversations are genuine and it’s a quick and easy listen.
