Rich but slow

Dr Mazza, you always have nourishing words to increase our knowledge. However, often I have difficulty listening to a full episode because you speak sooo slowly. I have heard you speak as a guest on other shows and your pace is much better. Please consider speaking @ a more normal pace.

Answer to a question

Dr. Mazza, regarding the book you picked up at a used bookstore with the inscription to Daniel. (February 2021).
May I make another suggestion? I too peruse used bookstores. One day, I found a book I had been looking for - for a while. I found on the front inside cover a name that startled me. It belonged to the husband of a woman who had been at a hospital where I worked a few years before. The owner of the store happened to be there and I asked how he had come to possess the book. “ Oh, I bought that as part of an estate sale. The father had died about 2 years ago and the mother a little before that. The children just wanted to get rid of a rather large library quickly.” A large library indeed. This man lived in a rural part of Arkansas and had been a foreign correspondent during WW II with a Chicago newspaper. His wife had been with the US government in foreign service and had learned to fly with Amelia Earhart. When they retired to this small community, they opened an after school library where they helped students to learn how to study, tutored them and give the resources to widen the young people’s horizons.
Please forgiven me, but there may have been a sin of presumption regarding the book you found. Please ponder on the above.

Excellent!

This is a great podcast for understanding the Faith from a historical perspective and how that manifests in current events. One of my favorites!
