A Dental Date with Dr. Jay Grossman

A Dental Date with Dr. Jay Grossman

Today we’ll talk to Jay Grossman, DDS, US Navy veteran and founder of Homeless Not Toothless, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit program, opened to provide free dental care to the homeless and underserved in 1992. Presently, hundreds of local dentists participate in the greater Los Angeles area. Most of the patients are referred by the Venice Family Clinic and local shelters, where their dental needs and the necessity for treatment are assessed.

While we know many guys out there don’t visit their primary physicians or mental health professionals regularly, we don’t get to hear much about men’s relationships with their dentists. And this leads us to the question: “What is the state of men’s oral hygiene?”

Dr. Grossman will answer this question and many others and will share some experiences that have shaped his view of wellbeing along the way. You’ll definitely want to go brush and floss after this.

The only thing Bill hates more than anything is ruffling Tina’s feathers. Though you may think you’re doing the right thing by keeping the peace to keep your wife happy, you’re probably doing way more damage than you realize.

    Servant Leadership Beyond...

    Servant Leadership Beyond...

Today cohost Jamiere Abney dissects servant leadership, a concept often associated with Christian thought-leaders and corporate management executives to encourage their subordinates and mentees to cultivate and develop people through their own service.

Not too long ago The Barbershop Group shared some words from the founder about leadership as many men still desire to be leaders of their families and teams but would like to do so in a more comprehensive and cohesive manner. And this isn’t a bad thing but sometimes we miss teaching opportunities because of the words chosen for various audiences.

Jamiere adds his voice to expand the concept of servant leadership beyond the status-quo. Hopefully you’ll find his take useful and down-to-earth. And stay tuned for more from Jamiere!
