    Yaaasss Queen Shakespeare

    Yaaasss Queen Shakespeare

We all know that women didn't have a ton of power in the home  in the Elizabethan Age - except for Elizabeth, of course!  Shakespeare did good things for female characters, even though it was men who played them!

In this episode, we discuss not only the actual Queens in Shakespeare's plays, but those women who are head of a household.

Dayum, bitch - it was hard being a girl!!!

    Foolish Shakespeare

    Foolish Shakespeare

Be A Clown, Be A Clown,
All The World Loves A Clown.
Act A Fool, Play The Calf,
And You'll Always Have The Last Laugh!!

And it's true!!! Gene Kelly and Judy Garland knew what they were talking about... we privately wonder if they were bardolaters behind closed doors!!

The clowns and fools in Shakespeare not only make us laugh uproariously, but Shakespeare puts words of razor sharp wit in their mouths to illuminate the human condition.

But what exactly designates one character a fool, and one a clown??

    Join us and find out!!!

    Punk Rock Shakespeare

    Punk Rock Shakespeare

HAPPY THIRD YEAR OF THE POD, LISTENERS!!!!!

We couldn't have done it without you and we are eternally grateful.

That being said, we thought we'd take a left at Albuquerque and riff a little on this idea we've been throwing around for a while: what does it mean to be "punk rock" (other than the music of course!)??  What is the energy and the attitude AND - what characters in Shakespeare plays could be considered "punk?"

In today's episode, we discuss this intriguing (to us, and hopefully, to you!) idea of anarchy and anti-establishment thinking. And we'd love to hear what you have to say about it!!!

BRILLIANT

My favorite podcast. These two are not only extremely knowledgeable, but they keep it real and aren’t afraid to drop some f bombs. Shakespeare would approve of these potty mouths! Listening to an episode feels like you’re hanging out with some good friends and having a chat (and probably a few drinks) around a fire. They are witty, hilarious, and the experience they have in theatre makes for a rich conversation of unique perspectives and funny stories. The chemistry between them is wonderful and they balance each other out quite well. Lisa Ann is definitely the rebel here and Owen is the glue that holds it all together. Each episode offers something unique and insightful. I have learned so much from this podcast! I love the episodes with the guest speakers. Waiting for Drunken Trivial Pursuit Shakespeare Part 2!

The spirit of Shakespeare

If you ever wanted to get in on what makes Shakespeare fun and interesting this should do it. Get ready to geek out over hidden (and not so hidden) meanings, history, specific performances. In addition to their deep knowledge, the hosts are hilariously authentic and uninhibited. Listen to the first episode and you’ll know if you can handle it.
