Psychological Shakespeare - A Follow-up to Mentally Ill Shakespeare!!
FRIENDS OF THE POD!!!! Remember two episodes ago when the topic was Mentally Ill Shakespeare?? We always invite our listeners to converse with us about our episodes and this time, our Canadian listener Randy J. Paterson PhD, did!!! He is an actual psychologist and he wrote us a wonderful email all about the amateur diagnoses that we came up with, and he was SO smart and SO amusing that we invited him on the pod to do a follow-up episode.
FYI - wacka wacka and bonkers are NOT actual clinical diagnosis terms - who knew??

Pet Shakespeare
Today's episode is a mewmorial - yes, shut the fuck up, mewmorial - for Lisa Ann's beloved feral to lapcat tortoiseshell Lady Plymdale, aka Momma. May she be resting in purrs over the rainbow bridge with Paquette, Genny-Mo, Sherilyn, Sahara, Thurl, Steve Wonder, and Eliot.
In today's episode, we talk about (mostly) cats and dogs in Shakespeare. We spill over, but you know... it's been a week.
IN MEWMORIAM - Lady Plymdale aka Momma - July 21, 2013 - September 5, 2023 😻

Mentally Ill Shakespeare
" I may be cwazy... but I'm not goin' to Alcatwaz..." (Yeah, yeah, we know it's a Shakespeare podcast, but Bugs Bunny is as Shakespearean a character as they come!!)
Today's episode takes us deep into the loony bins of the canon. Which Shakespeare characters have gone off the deep end? And what would their diagnosis be? We dive into the psyche (ha!) and leap headlong into Bedlam!!

Sweaty Shakespeare
"In the summertime, when the weather is high
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got Shakespeare, you got Shakespeare on your mind!"
Well, we ALWAYS have Shakespeare on our minds!!
But... it's still summer... hot, sweaty, stinky, sexy summer. What was it like for Elizabethans in the summer? In this episode, we discuss that, as well as references to the moistest of seasons.
"For now, these hot days, is the mad blood stirring." Romeo & Juliet, Act III Scene 1

Vacation Shakespeare
"Vacation, all I ever wanted.... Vacation, had to get away..."
Okay, so the Go-Gos aren't exactly Shakespearian, but it is a catchy tune!!
It's summer, it's hot, it's time for some relaxation and respite. That being said, since neither of us can get away - too much going on!!! - www.sagaftrastrike.org!!! - in today's episode, we discuss where we would like to go on vacation... out of the locations Shakespeare used in his canon... and where we would absolutely NOT want to go!!! In both time periods, we might add - cuz sometimes, that makes ALL the difference.

AI Shakespeare - The Return of CHAT GPT - Pro Version!
So, dear listeners... several episodes ago, we dove headlong into the world of AI.
We asked CHATGPT to write sequels of three Shakespeare plays for us. (We also asked for a synopsis of the original plays).
They BLEW.
Then we found out that there was (apparently) a SMARTER version of CHAT GPT. That, of course, you have to pay for.
We couldn't help ourselves. Here's those three once more from the "smarter" AI - and two new ones.

Customer Reviews
BRILLIANT
My favorite podcast. These two are not only extremely knowledgeable, but they keep it real and aren’t afraid to drop some f bombs. Shakespeare would approve of these potty mouths! Listening to an episode feels like you’re hanging out with some good friends and having a chat (and probably a few drinks) around a fire. They are witty, hilarious, and the experience they have in theatre makes for a rich conversation of unique perspectives and funny stories. The chemistry between them is wonderful and they balance each other out quite well. Lisa Ann is definitely the rebel here and Owen is the glue that holds it all together. Each episode offers something unique and insightful. I have learned so much from this podcast! I love the episodes with the guest speakers. Waiting for Drunken Trivial Pursuit Shakespeare Part 2!
The spirit of Shakespeare
If you ever wanted to get in on what makes Shakespeare fun and interesting this should do it. Get ready to geek out over hidden (and not so hidden) meanings, history, specific performances. In addition to their deep knowledge, the hosts are hilariously authentic and uninhibited. Listen to the first episode and you’ll know if you can handle it.
