BWA462 Chris Gokey
This week on “The Bear Woznick Adventure,” you’ll meet a man who rides bulls, flies helicopters and fishes on ice.
He’s also learned a thing or two about how to be a manlier Christian.
Join me as I talk to my friend Chris Gokey about his adventures and his deeper conversion in the Catholic faith. You’ll learn:
How a chance encounter at the gym challenged his faith, and how another chance encounter gave him the answer How one gift made a big impact on his faith...but not at first How he learned to be a manlier Christian…and who he found as the best example for it.
Hear all this and more in this week’s episode. You don’t want to miss it!
BWA461 Andy Gallagher
Music has a way of telling the deepest things about God and religion. But most popular music tears down God and religion. How did grief turn one man into a songwriter who describes what it’s really like to know God?
This week on “The Bear Woznick Adventure,” I talk with alt-rock singer/songwriter Andy Gallagher, whose music I’m using for the next season of the “Long Ride Home.” We discuss what makes music so powerful and the extraordinary men who influenced Andy’s music and faith. We also explore the name of his band and what it means for all the men out there whose lives need an overhaul.
Tune in to meet the man behind the music!
BWA460 Dr. John Oertle
“You are what you eat.”
We’ve all heard that phrase. And while it’s certainly true on the level of our physical health, did you know that it’s equally true of the spiritual life?
In this week’s episode of the Bear Woznick Adventure, Bear is joined by Dr. John Oertle—Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of Solidarity HealthShare, and Bear’s personal fitness expert.
Together they’ll discuss the importance of gut health, Bear’s recovery from the effects of radiation treatment, and the role of the Eucharist in our spiritual health.
BWA459 Dr. Scott Hahn
Memento Mori — Remember your death.
This saying has helped monks and nuns throughout the ages stay focused on their ultimate end. We laypeople would do well to remember it from time to time.
In this week’s episode of “The Bear Woznick Adventure,” I’m excited to be joined by Dr. Scott Hahn — popular Catholic author and speaker, in-demand university professor, founder of the St. Paul Institute for Biblical Studies and CEO of Emmaus Road Publishing.
We’re going to discuss his latest book, “Hope to Die,” and matters of eternal consequence. Be sure to tune in!
BWA458 Mike Aquilina
You and I are living in an epic season of the history of God.
When you know how to read the signs, you can easily see that there’s a tidal wave of God’s power and glory approaching the shore.
Are you ready to go out and meet that wave?
In this episode of the Bear Woznick Adventure, I’m joined by Mike Aquilina — Early Church expert and one of our most popular guests on the show.
Together we’re going to discuss:
How the Early Church faced pandemics, persecutions, and wars, and how their example can help us overcome similar adversities
How you and I ought to be preparing for the coming tidal wave of God’s power and glory (HINT: It’s not complicated.)
How the Early Church met a similar wave of God’s glory, and what they did to prepare for it
Why Mike’s favorite document from the Early Church is a novel (you read that right!)
And much more…
BWA457 Allan Smith

Bear is a man’s man!
He’s a guy with a tremendously adventurous story and lots to share! He has great insights and guests as well
I heard Bear on Catholic Questions Catholic Answers and I thought, wow, this is a manly man who is more Catholic than most people I've ever met. In some Catholic churches its easy to feel outside of the community because of your masculinity. Not the case here. Bear is a champion surfer, ninja black-belt, motorcycle riding CPA who knows how to get men in touch with authentic Catholic manhood.
Personally I have noisy toddlers with me in mass each week. It's very hard to pay much attention. So really between a handful of podcasts like this that I keep up with I feel my faith growing and being fed through Bear's stories and his guests. He makes the faith so accessible and approachable. I would recommend this podcast as well as The Catholic Man Show if you are picking up what I'm putting down.
What a Gem, this is great stuff!
Really, really glad I found this. Really moving and so real and gritty. This is Christian talk for men. Get ready though, you'll have to get deep or get out.
