Bent Tines Podcast
Still too early to review properly. That being said, I find it informative and entertaining.
They’re not exactly breaking news in the pen world, and I don’t think they intend it to be. It’s a good show to listen to while waiting for the major pen podcasts to release. Pretty casual. There is a little overlap of topics from other shows, but that’s not a bad thing if you a fan of the hosts and want to hear their takes on some of the current news out there in the fountain pen world.
I like the “character carry” they do. Glad that was carried over from Kathrine’s previous show.
On a technical side, I wish the sound levels were a bit higher. I have my headphones turned all the way to max volume just to hear it when out for my evening walks. If a car passes me I have to pause it to not miss a word. And even full volume it’s still too quiet. I could use noise canceling headphones but that’s just not safe outside when on a walk.
That’s just my review so take that for what it’s worth. I’ll update my review as needed.
Has potential, but
Always interested in Kat and Matthew’s thoughts on the pen world, but the podcast could really use some structure. Pleasedonttellutline would prevent discussion from straying too far from the subject — sometimes this feels more like a photography podcast than a pen podcast — as well as help Kat and Matthew speak more effectively about pens. (Describing pens as just “beautiful” and “really cool” doesn’t translate over audio, for instance.) Keep going!
Really great podcast!
Every episode has been a treat to listen to! I especially enjoy the great guest interviews. Katherine and Matthew’s conversations together are super fun - I recommend this if you’re looking for a podcast that feels like a hangout with two good friends and pen geeks! Looking forward to seeing the podcast continue to grow.
