To Light and Guard, Rule and Guide

I started reading the Bible over one year ago with a friend of mine. We stopped talking about what we thought the verses were saying to us because we didn’t know. There are times when we disagreed on what some verses meant. We agreed to disagree. I felt a little frustrated but came across a verse that always stuck with me. It is Pr 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. The Holy Bible: Revised Standard Version, Catholic edition (Pr 3:5). National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA.
We began our sessions with the Guardian Angel and St Michael prayers. I suggested a couple of times perhaps we needed to be guided and suggested Fr. Mike Schmitz’s podcast. My Guardian Angel was insistent and well, now here I am. Good solid commentary from Fr. Schmitz. For example, he raised a thought I had not heard before about Issac being older. Perhaps 30 years old carrying the wood on his back so that he was to be sacrificed. Wow. Now that made sense. That pushed me to think about it in a different way. Awesome!! That’s what I was looking for. I have Verbum software and didn’t know how to use it. Well, I use it with the commentary and look for information in the original Greek when I have a question about what Fr. Mike says. I’m finally getting into the scriptures and learning more that I was before. Great idea.

Wow! So Grateful for this podcast!!

Going through the Bible in a Year has been enlightening and life changing. The format is well thought out with its ability to connect the Old and New Testament. Fr Mike makes the Bible come alive through his readings and reflections. I also loved the overviews with Fr Mike & Jeff Cavins. I would recommend to anyone.. young and old. ❤️🙏🏽
