Film review

Enjoy the show immensely Sean is a knowledgeable film guy. The large compliant though is Amanda‘s screeching voice.

An otherwise good podcast brought down by unlikable hosts

No, Clint Eastwood is not problematic because he supported Mitt Romney. The hosts represent the worst of America’s divide, that somehow you are an awful person if you are anything other than far left. If this is the position you hold, with no attempt to empathize or understand anyone who doesn’t share your politics, then you are the awful person (the same applies to those on the right). It’s a movie podcast, I don’t understand why we constantly have to hear your political views.

The Amanda Dobbins criticisms others mention are apt. She’s a narcissist who rarely goes one podcast without referring to herself in the third person, and mocks anyone that likes movies she doesn’t (eg. Marvel, animated movies- some of the most popular movies). Miraculously, Captain Marvel, objectively one of the worst MCU movies, is one of the few super hero movies she likes (see comment above about politics/identity politics making them completely impartial in their reviews).

Curious Host

I guess what I'm really wondering is....does Amanda Dobbins even like watching movies? And she is aware people can have differing views on subject matter, correct? Other than her, this podcast can be very good at times.

9/14/2021 UPDATE: Gotta love it when less than 2 minutes into a movie draft episode, Dobbins says she hasn't seen half the movies. Why is she part of this podcast?!?
