Tactical and Practical Advice

I love this podcast. There are 5 kids in my blended family (2 bio and 3 step) ages 11, 11, 11, 12 and 13. We’ve been on this journey for 3.5 years and although it seems to get “easier”, I’m always looking for new ways to grow. The content Mike and Kim share is applicable, candid, and vulnerable. With each episode I take away new ideas and perspectives. There is an episode where they discuss the step parents option to “resign their post” in certain situations. That episode was a game changer for me and my household.

Surprised you’re more concerned about adults than kids

Although I appreciate your info, your perspective often feels so sorry for the step parent. I believe adults should be capable of understanding kids’ feelings and refrain from being immature and getting their “feelings hurt”. We should be concerned about the children and help adults realize they need to get over themselves and act like an adult.
