052 - Keane Webre-Hayes
At the age of 13, in early October of 2018, the unthinkable (or always thought about) happened, Keane Webre-Hayes was attacked by a Great White Shark at Beacons, a surf spot and beach in Leucadia California. This is his story.
-
051 - Ian Cairns
Ian Cairns won the 1973 Smirnoff Pro, at the time the contest was considered the de factor world championship. I’m convinced in a different time Ian led a large army of men to glorious victory on a loamy battlefield somewhere. He’s intelligent, courageous and speaks truth even when it’s uncomfortable to do so. A professional surfer before there was such a thing.
-
050 - Devon Howard
Devon Howard and I have been friends for close to three decades ; I’ve surfed with him, shared waves, shared laughs, ideas about surfboard design, we’ve also shared personal stuff about our families and about the challenges of surfing. And in this podcast we touch on a lot of these points of interest and much more.
-
049 - Taylor Knox
Over two decades on the elite WCT professional surfing tour. You simply don’t survive that long without consistency, without a level head, and without a fitness regime. Taylor is bright, kind, and -- if you haven’t seen him surf in person-- Taylor is a powerful, controlled, stylish surfer from the Tom Curren vein. Some surfers throw buckets of water, Taylor throws barrels of water.

048 - Chris Mauro
Chris Mauro and I worked together at Surfer magazine more or less from 1997 to 2007. We spent years in the same office space; bantering about, terrorizing the ad dept and each other. The fondest memories for me might be edit meetings in Evan Slater’s or Chris Mauro’s office where they would eventually ask for my opinion and just as quickly dismiss it – rightly so – I was pretty outspoken a little bit ignorant.
This will be the second time I’ve had Chris Mauro on the podcast, and the only guest who’s been on twice.
Chris is opinionated, articulate, and draws from decades of surf industry experience growing up at Ground Zero in Laguna Beach.

047 - Barton Lynch
In conversation, as you will hear, Barton Lynch is every bit the magnanimous individual in one on one conversation as he is with his broadcasting cap on. That’s really no surprise. Barton Lynch very smart. Street smart. He lost his Father at a young age and this forced him into self-determination. But perhaps more importantly, Barton Lynch is self-aware. He acknowledges his emotions. He is emotionally intelligent. He is a world champion surfer and world champion human being. In this episode of the Boardroom Podcast Barton Lynch… let us begin

Longboard Magazine for your ears!
I can’t say enough about the work Scott has put in here. I used to love reading Longboard Magazine for the legends articles. I’m a huge fan of surf history and Scott nails it every time. I’m so grateful we have these stories and interviews to enjoy from this point forward. Thank you!
