Inspector Lestrade summons Holmes to Herefordshire, where a local landowner has been murdered. The deceased's estranged son is strongly implicated. Holmes quickly determines that a mysterious third man may be responsible for the crime.

This episode features the voices of S. Georgiadis as Sherlock Holmes, S. J. Nicholls as Dr John H. Watson, G. Perkins as Mary Watson, M. Whittingham as the Coroner, D. Donaldson as James McCarthy, M. Young as Inspector Lestrade and L. Atkin as Alice Turner.
The production is directed by G. Rogers with J. Lusty, adapted for audio by E. Bradford and M. van der Bijl and is produced by Someone New Theatre Company. Sound design for this episode by T. Plummer.
