In this introduction episode, Dr. Lisa Richardson Hassler sets the podcast's tone and purpose as well to introduce herself as the host.  She is an educator with 20 years’ experience as well a parent of seven! With seven kids, she has experienced the struggles and challenges that come with students who are "gifted", on level, and those with special education needs.  It is because of her passion for helping ALL kids succeed that she started this podcast by being  focused on advancing school systems through awareness. Her work is in education as a writer, consultant, and teacher coach with degrees in educational leadership, online teaching and learning, and elementary education.
 
With 47% of Florida's third grade students not reading on grade level, Hassler addresses the need for change in her book, America's Embarrassing Reading Crisis: What we learned from COVID, A guide to help educational leaders, teachers and parents change the game. She lays a path towards improvement for educational leaders, teachers, and parents with her award winning research on virtual school validity in second grade for third grade reading proficiency.
 
Lisa is dedicated to the advancement of professional practice with research-based theory and methods. Listen to, The Brighter Side of Education, for enlightening conversation with experts in the field of education and people making a difference in their school communities.
