Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 341-Pubcast 341 - Werk Force Brewing Does It The Wright Way

"The podcast is starting out 2020 with a bang with the year's first brewery recording and what a superstar bumper edition we have in store!! One of the brewery teams that we've long admired are the husband and wife team of Brandon and Amanda Wright, and the excellent brewing powerhouse that is Werk Force. This week we got that chance, and Ken McMullen and The Brit headed to the Plainfield taproom for an afternoon of conversation. We also get a bonus from Brandon's Banjo picking, as he plays us the music for our segment breaks...an exclusive first for this podcast that is sure to have record producers cocking an ear once they hear the tunes, but we're not sure if it will be toward or away! There's a guest appearance by Erik Pizer, who has time on his hands while his new brewery, Milk Money, is in the build-out phase. There are extended discussions on 2019 styles, what 2020 may bring, the hard seltzer craze, the pricing of beer, adding CBD, and many more. Cheers!

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 340-Past and Future with the Midwest Brew Review

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 340-Past and Future with the Midwest Brew Review

"We have a special edition for the first show of 2020, and the podcast crew of The Brit, Ken McMullen and Chuck Fort welcome a trio of craft beer media chums when the Midwest Brew Review lads visit the pub studios. MBR is Matt Psenika, Bill Nauss, and Brian Nauss and their video channel is available on YouTube. Each panelist brings along a brew of their choice, perhaps one that had an impact on them in 2019, or perhaps one that will be a favorite into 2020, and we chat about how 2019 went, and what the future holds. The MBR team tell us about how they got into video brew reviews, and their interest in home brewing that exists today. Talk! They never stop! Cheers!!

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 339-Penny and Nate Peterson: Wishful Acres Farm and Brewery

"It's our last visit to a brewery for 2019, and The Brit and Ken McMullen once again head west to Lena IL, and sit down with Nate and Penny Peterson who are the owners and operators of Wishful Acres Farm and Brewery. It's another friendly, community brewery that has suddenly become the focus as a weekend watering hole visit for a lot of the heartland population. The Petersons have transformed an old 19th century farmhouse into their home, and the barn into a great spot to drink fresh, local brews. And if you are a Star Wars fan, then hang out with Nate who is a big Star Wars fan, and he will certainly show you the Force he has with his beers! Finally, we toast the season with one of their Winter Spice ales...Merry Christmas everybody!

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 338-Broken Brix: The Seaman Cellar

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 338-Broken Brix: The Seaman Cellar

"How many collectors have 20 and 30 year old bottles of brewin their cellars? Mike Seaman over at Broken Brix in St.Charles does, and he invited the podcast crew to the taproom to pass our arbitrary opinions on how well they aged. It was a mixed bag of flavors from moldy to oxidized to fantastic with classic brew from the UK and Belgium that have an average age of 20 years! Which were the winners and losers? Tune in and hear from Ken, Chuck, Ed and Mike who join The Brit for a one-off tasting session like no other!

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 337-Steven Winter of Generations Brewing

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 337-Steven Winter of Generations Brewing

"It's a trip out to Freeport IL this week, and we visit with Steven Winter, brewmaster and co-owner of Generations Brewing. Steven hosted The Brit and co-host Ken McMullen in the taproom of the custom-built brewery, which is only 90 minutes from the Chicago area, and presents them with some great brews to sample, including a very unique barrel-aged Berliner Weisee that has been in barrels for nearly 3 years! Generations is your next destination brewery! Cheers!

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 336-A Trio of Boise Beers

Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee-Show 336-A Trio of Boise Beers

"As Thanksgiving hit this week we didn't get to record a full show, so it's an opportunity to have our pub panel tell you about a couple of breweries from Boise Idaho. When Mark naski hits town he aways brings some goodies for us from that area and this time we have a Barbarian and Mad Swede trio. It's a quick show, and we recorded this at the end of another recording, which may have not been such a good idea, but what the heck! Cheers!

I LOVE THIS PODCAST!!!

I love listening to this podcast, it is very entertaining and I always feel like I have been on a visit with good friends after listening. Phil and Lingo have a great chemistry and they interact as only good friends can. I like listening to shows from the basement bar as well as the visits to breweries and festivals. Could I complain about one thing that I would like to see improved? I would like to hear LOTS more adventures from the Brit and Yankee!! Thanks guys for being awesome!!!!
