#64 The Future of Cybersecurity and Data with Mahmoud Abdelkader, CEO of Very Good Security
With all the recent ransomware hacks (Colonial Pipeline, JBS the world's largest meat supplier, etc) I was intrigued when this opportunity to interview Mahmoud presented itself..
On today’s episode, I have Mahmoud Abdelkader, the CEO of Very Good Security, which is like a credit card network for exchanging data
Mahmoud co-founded and served as the CTO of a a YCominbator company, Balanced Payments, which was sold to Stipe in 2015. He is also an active angel investor, serves as an advisor to numerous FinTech startups
Mahmoud really had to break down what he does for me in simplest terms, and the best way I can explain it is: just like most of us don't carry around cash money, he wants companies to stop carrying their data. No data = no ransomware hacks and loss of billions of dollars (and increase in gas prices, food, etc)
In addition to talking about cybersecurity, we talked about Mahmoud's history transitioning from NYC to NorCal and being a part of 2 startup acquisitions prior to starting VGS
This is a great interview and I learned a ton! Check it out, leave a review, and share with a friend

Creating a Cult Following
I listened to the podcast “Creating a Cult Following and Spend Less on Advertising” twice in the last few weeks and was so impressed with the host and the guest. I own a small marketing form with 13 employees and we align with everything the guest shared. It was so confirming for how we have positioned our own brand and deliverables. Love this show!! Thank you!
Love this podcast. A lot of podcasts yell at you and say “ you must do this to be successful.” Jared and his team put together a humble show that just explains things in business, health, and leadership in a way that feels like you are having a conversation with them. It’s great for a young entrepreneur/young professional. Keep it up!
