Molly Beck Interview - Connections Move the World Forward

Molly Beck Interview - Connections Move the World Forward

Molly Beck is the founder and CEO of private podcasting platform Messy.fm, and author of the book Reach Out, The Simple Strategy You Need to Know to Expand Your Network and Increase Your Influence. She is also a blogger, speaker and co-creator of Reach Out Party with Carly Valancy.

Molly’s philosophy of ‘Connections Move The World Forward’ has never been more fitting in this current global climate. It has certainly moved her forward!

I first heard about Molly’s book Reach Out through an invitation to a Reach Out Party from Carly Valancy. We had Carly on an earlier episode and heard how her reach out to Molly via an Instagram direct message created the start of the Reach Out Party movement.

Molly’s book started with an idea followed by massive action. She was looking for investors for her then startup, Messy.fm, a private podcasting platform that allows corporate organisations to communicate differently within their business.

So she scheduled a daily task in her calendar each weekday morning to contact someone that could help, either an investor directly or for an introduction to someone that could refer her to a chosen investor. This then became a blog, a Forbes article, and eventually a book, sharing her journey of how she did it. These daily reach outs also lead to career opportunities, business partnerships and of course the growth and success of Messy.fm.

Molly also shares with us her take on the power of podcasting and how audio is the happy balance between text and video. People don’t like to, want to or have time to read text and with video, people either don’t want to or are hesitant to create them.

Take a listen to the podcast where we discuss:
The power of podcasting for internal communications
The power of reaching out to everyone

    And some tips from Molly:
    Start your own show
Reach out to everyday - make it a habit
It is who you know in business, so grow your who (network)

I love Molly’s book, Reach Out. It speaks to everything I do myself and help others do, which is to make connections, create collaboration opportunities and make a bigger impact on the world!

At the Business Connections Podcast we are all about sharing stories that demonstrate the power of connection.

We thank Molly Beck for being generous with her time and sharing her wisdom with us all. We wish Molly all the very best with Messy.fm and Reach Out Party and all that is to come!

Louise Karch Interview - The Attention Economy - How Does Your Name Stand Out?

Louise Karch Interview - The Attention Economy - How Does Your Name Stand Out?

Louise Karch is Australia’s #1 Name Whisperer, tagline wrangler, sticky storyteller and award winning marketer and author of ‘Word Glue - Find Your Million Dollar Brand Name’.

Growing up in a family who loved books and constantly made up stories, Louise was always going to do something with words…..and boy does she know a thing or two about words, their power and how to use them for impact!

A former stand up comic, 4x Canadian adult gold medalist figure skater and originally from Canada, Louise moved to Australia with her partner where she currently resides. Louise joined Seth Godin’s altMBA program in 2018 as is now one of the facilitators of this program, leveraging her skills and experience with Seth’s program, name and network. It was Seth Godin, the world’s #1 marketing expert who inspired the name of her book, Word Glue.

Word Glue is a practical handbook, a ‘how to’ book on how to name your brand, product or service. It is gold….literally, having won 4 book awards at the time of recording, with a few more on the way no doubt.

I met Louise in person just over a year ago when she was giving a talk in my local library on naming. She was funny, engaging, quick and so very smart (she still is by the way!). I bought her book, read it from cover to cover, and I can’t recommend it enough!

With another book on the way (she won’t tell me the name yet!?) Louise is using her time in lockdown#2 wisely, dedicating 50 minutes each day to write.

I hope this inspires you to write your own book, so as Louise poses in this interview:
What does the world want you to write about?
What would my grandchildren wish I had written?
    Ask yourself better questions

    Join me as we discuss:
    Why names matter
    The science behind a name

At the Business Connections Podcast we are all about sharing stories that demonstrate the power of connection.

We thank Louise Karch for being generous with her time and sharing her wisdom with us all. We wish Louise all the very best for her new book and look forward to catching up with her again to find out all about it…..even the name!

Moira Ni Gallachoir Interview - The Opportunity With Virtual Speaking Is Exponential

Moira Ni Gallachoir is the founder of MNG and Secret Suppers Worldwide, an international speaker and business mentor.

Having literally walked out of her life in London just a few years ago, where she had a great 9-5 job, plenty of friends and a very active social life. She turned her back on it all and listened to her heart which was begging her to return home to Ireland – in the middle of a deep recession.

She started working with local businesses to promote the unique tourism attractions of her hometown of Donegal. This then led her to help other small businesses through her mentoring and then eventually to appear on stages speaking around the world!

She now mentors other savvy entrepreneurs to build a top-tier income from virtual speaking and powerful closing keys so they enroll the maximum number of their viewers and attendees into their products and programs.

Moira is a passionate entrepreneur living her life on purpose and is on a mission to inspire freedom in entrepreneurs by embracing the power of speaking as a way to be recognised for who they really are and live a life they love while having a bigger impact in the world, making way more money.

Her latest business adventure is the creation and launch of Secret Suppers Worldwide, a unique way to connect and engage fellow entrepreneurs, especially relevant and timely in today’s world of remote working and restricted travel.

    Join me as we discuss:
How speaking is the fastest path to business success and impact and that the opportunity with virtual speaking is exponential.
That you can craft your own audience in the current market
