EP200: Dreaming Big and Annual Planning Workshop: Part 2

EP200: Dreaming Big and Annual Planning Workshop: Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of our ‘Dreaming Big and Annual Planning Workshop,’ the second half of our two-part workshop series where I will show you how to ignore all self-limiting thoughts and dream big about your business, while setting up a successful and realistic annual plan.
If you haven’t already listened to Part 1, I highly recommend that you stop this episode and listen to that one first, then come back. You can also download your very own annual planning workbook right here!
Before starting, I want to take a minute to celebrate an incredible 200 episodes, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening! Whether you’re a new listener or you’ve been with me since Episode 1, I am so grateful to you. Thank you for subscribing, reviewing, and sharing this podcast.
In the first half of this workshop, Episode 199, we covered what annual planning is, what to do before you plan, the metrics you should collect, and how to conduct a business audit. For our second half (and final episode!) we will focus on the step-by-step plan itself, which you can repeat for every year.
    Today, let’s chat about:
Which marketing and sales campaigns are you going to offer? How are you going to enroll clients?  What worked and didn’t work last year?   How can you choose a realistic annual goal?  What components of the plan do you need, and in what order? Who do you have to become to achieve this dream? Think of it this way. You’re going on a trip. In order to arrive at the final destination, you first need to have a final destination picked.
You can map the safest and fastest route, but at any point in time, there might be road blocks that come up that cause you to deviate from the original itinerary. Some of the deviations might add on more time, or take you into unknown territory. But as long as you’re still on your way to the final destination, that’s all that matters.
Trouble ensues when you deviate SO much from the itinerary that you wind up lost, or you quit and just go home.
Annual planning is a process that sets your year up for success as smoothly and seamlessly as possible, so getting lost, overwhelmed, or quitting becomes unthinkable.

What We Talk About In This Episode:
Setting an annual revenue goal  Focusing on selling only one program in the beginning  Mapping out your dates at least 6 months in advance  Looking for weak spots in your program  Having a high-level list of projects you want to work on  Identifying your constraints or non-negotiables Not feeling guilty for changing your goal midway through Can you do me a favor?
I’d love it if you would post your revenue goal in the Take Your Health Practice Online Facebook Group. State it loud and proud. There is no shame in striving for growth.

EP199: Dreaming Big and Annual Planning Workshop: Part 1

Welcome to Part 1 of our ‘Dreaming Big and Annual Planning Workshop,’ the first half of a two-part workshop series where I’m going to walk you through how to do one of my favorite things in the world...dreaming big and annual planning.
That’s right, these next two episodes will be workshop-style podcasts complete with your very own annual planning workbook, which you can easily download here!

Before we begin, I want to share a special Business of Becoming podcast update with you. I’ve decided to create seasons of the show for a fresh new format. So expect a very sensational Season 1 to open up the New Year with a bang.
If you’re brand new to Business of Becoming, head over to your favorite podcast listening app and subscribe so you don’t miss our premiere season. I can’t wait to share more of my easy-to-follow strategies with you.
Our next episode will discuss my personal annual planning process, but for now let’s cover:
What is annual planning in general? What do you need to do before you begin? What information do you need to conduct first?  How do you run an audit on your business, and why is it important?  The point of annual planning is to mold your growth mindset, release all of the limitations you place on yourself, and give yourself permission to just dream BIG.
Building a thriving business requires constant upgrading. But that doesn’t mean you need to rush the process or overwhelm yourself in the making of it.

What We Talk About In This Episode:
The 4 goal categories: revenue, profit purpose, profit percentage, and constraints The 5 metric categories: total revenue, product revenue, email list, social media, and expenses Writing the “What Did and Didn’t Work” outline  Implementing the current year’s metrics to set future goals  Collecting key pieces of information for your audit Using the audit results as a tool to identify weak spots

EP198: Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts - PART 5

EP198: Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts - PART 5

Welcome to Part 5 of ‘Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts,’ where we are going to wrap up ALL of the strategies in this five-part series and solidify the final Do and Don’t that you should put above all others.
Do us a favor and please watch the first four segments if you haven’t already, as this episode ties them all together! We want you to be able to sit down with this and really brainstorm everything we’ve talked about so far.
All of our episodes have touched on getting attention by telling a relatable story. Describe a scenario that the ideal client for your niche has done or lived through. You can paint the picture of a stressful situation and grab that awareness without asking, “Are you stressed?” This is where you begin.
Our final podcast of this series will dive into:
How do I use content and social media to sell?  Where should I sandwich the educational piece? Can I engage my audience without speaking “at” them?  Be a real human in the world. Interact with your audience. Ask questions. Talk to them.
The way that most practitioners and coaches display themselves online is similar to how old-school doctors portray themselves, using words the client doesn’t understand...leaving the client feeling unintelligent and not knowing what to do next. Hence, why we begin with an empathetic story.

What We Talk About In This Episode:
Emotionally charged headlines, stories, and dialogues Speaking in the first person, as if in a real conversation, in your content Shying away from the educational or scientific pieces in the beginning The right time to talk “clinical” The day to day life of a client in your narrowest, most specific niche Niching down properly, without rushing the process for short-term gain

EP197: Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts - PART 4

EP197: Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts - PART 4

Welcome to Part 4 of ‘Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts,’ where we will talk through how to identify the misconceptions that your audience is operating under and how to educate and illuminate the better alternatives.
Go back and listen to the first three episodes if you haven’t yet! This is a FIVE-part series of niching down in uncertain times. Each episode concept builds off the previous and opens the floor for the next topic.
Now, your audience is often misled by common misconceptions that are getting in the way of them understanding the real problem and finding the best-suited solution for it.
As a coach, you bring value by knowing what these misconceptions are...you’ve probably heard of them more times than you can count. Telling a story that shows empathy for your ideal client will create a bond and open up the client’s mindset.
Then, you can bash that misconception right before their eyes, showing them you’ve been in their shoes and retelling how you handled that same problem.
In today’s podcast, we are going to address:
How can I show my ideal client their misconception is not their fault? What are the misconceptions surrounding my niche specifically? How can I bring hope to my misinformed audience through my expertise? From your audience’s point of view, they are trying everything and it’s just not working. In their brain, this is going to be a problem for them forever. By showing them another way, you are relieving them of this self-blame and self-doubt.

What We Talk About In This Episode:
The false beliefs your audience has been operating under Offering new information to bring clarity to these false beliefs  Showing a client that they aren’t the failure & that their misconception was failing them Calling the belief out first, in order to open a client’s mind up to a new belief  Bringing in education, authority, and confidence to reassure a client Content that falls flat without the proper beginning  Interviewing the client and asking for the problem Looking beyond just the clinical Resonating with the client through language and storytelling

EP196: Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts - PART 3

EP196: Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts - PART 3

Welcome to Part 3 of ‘Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts,’ where we will tackle a common stumbling block...using the right language for your clientele.
If you haven’t yet seen Part 1 or 2 of this 5-part series, check them both out later today...we give tips on how to catch the interest of your ideal client during chaotic times (like the election and pandemic), and how to grab a client’s attention by relating to their experiences and validating their thoughts.
Coaches often get stuck because they see their ideal client’s wants as superficial and have a hard time using the right language in their marketing. We must first remove our judgements in order to approach and connect with an audience that may be suffering from a pain we don’t experience.
In today’s episode, we will open up the floor to questions like:
How do I uncover the real pain of my client, the real problem they want to solve? In what ways can I bring my client to higher awareness without using elevated language?  Is it ever okay to “diagnose” right off the bat?  If you are creating content, but it’s not getting engagement or producing clients, then you’re probably trying to sell based on what you DO, versus what the client WANTS. This will undoubtedly lead to financial objections because you need to first show them how what you do leads to what they want.

What We Talk About In This Episode:
What clients complain about versus what you offer Making a case for how your program solves whatever they suffer from Meeting the client where they are, instead of where you are  Removing the disconnect between a client’s superficial desire and a coach’s program goal Talking in “stories” and using language like, “we, her, us” to associate  What the client sees as the biggest obstacle holding them back Easing their embarrassment by relating to their experiences and speaking as “one” Setting up a client’s mindset before even mentioning your program  Finding the deep-rooted, emotional motivator behind any client’s want

EP195: Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts - PART 2

EP195: Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts - PART 2

Welcome to Part 2 of ‘Niching in Uncertain Times: The Do’s and the Don'ts,’ where Laura and I will talk all about how to distinguish between the problem the client complains about and the problem your service actually solves.
If you haven’t yet seen Part 1, check it out later today...we discuss some niching hat tricks, like how to get exposure to your audience and how to tailor your message to match the needs of your clients.
It’s difficult to keep an audience’s attention in the news feed normally during Q4, but even more so now because we have upcoming holidays, the New Year, the pandemic, and, of course, the election.
We will be answering some really critical questions from our subscribers like…
How do I catch the interest of my ideal client during this time? What kind of language should I be using to attract my client?  Should I grab their attention logically or emotionally?  Niching is a necessity, NOT an option, if you want to grow a financially stable business that transforms lives on the internet. That is why this is only Part 2 of our five-part ‘Niching Down’ series!

What We Talk About In This Episode:
The tunnel vision a potential client has when searching for answers Talking over the client’s head with elevated language Using emotionally provocative headlines that validate an experience Leading with a human connection instead of a teacher or coach mentality How to use empathy and sensitivity to your advantage   Asking yourself what a client may complain about to the people closest to them Breaking down information into actionable items that produce results  Ditching the professional “clinical talk” and relating to a client’s pain personally  Evoking awareness first, gaining trust, and teaching later
