What Job Are They Hiring You For?

In this episode, Josh discusses the difficulty of measuring a lawyer's "quality" and the value of focusing more on the immediate concerns of the client and less on the outcome of the case. In many instances, the outcome will have little bearing on the client's overall feeling toward you as a law practitioner. Great for anyone building their criminal defense firm!

I was a public defender for a little over 12 years before going into private practice. During my time at the public defender I tried homicides, sexual assaults, stabbings, DWIs, you name it. What I’ve never done is run a business and quite frankly, it was a big learning curve. Josh’s podcast and his LinkedIn page are great for ideas on growing your criminal defense practice and being happy doing it.
