EP 20: RAY WYLIE HUBBARD Interview
Hearing stories of the old troubadours of Texas, the road always leads to time spent in California. Hearing Texas "icon" Ray Wylie Hubbard tell a story, it almost sounds like a song... one inspired by life's roadside stops.
At 73 (he just played the Opry for the first time, just released what might be his coolest album yet called "Co-Starring", with an even cooler lineup of guests, and on the smash pop-country label "Big Machine" no doubt), Ray's no intention to stop writing now. "I just didn't want to peak too early." he jokes.

EP 19: SARA EVANS Interview
Life under quarantine hasn't stopped workaholic country artist Sara Evans (Born to Fly, Suds in the Bucket, A Little Bit Stronger). She just released an album in May, has a memoir coming out in September, and has been live streaming almost non-stop (mainly from her closet with co-host daughter Olivia).
In this interview we discuss what went in into her newest album of cover songs called "Copy That", how the recording process is a family affair, and missing life on the road.

EP 18: NED LEDOUX Interview
Son of legendary artist and champion bareback rodeo rider Chris LeDoux, Ned LeDoux grew up learning how to be a rancher, while playing drums in touring bar bands... the whole time his father was on the road. He soon became a part of Chris LeDoux's back-up band "Western Underground" until his father passed away of cancer in 2005. But what started as singing in tribute to the songs of his dad became a music career worthy of being the 'Next in Line'.
Ned LeDoux's new single "Dance With Your Spurs On", on the album "Next in Line" is available everywhere and signed copies are available at www.nedledoux.com

EP 17: JOHN DOE of X Interview
After a long absence, and in the middle of a global crisis, The California Country Show Podcast returns with a big special guest bringing with him even bigger news. It's been 40 years since LA punk pioneers "X" released their iconic record "Los Angeles", 35 years since they made a studio album! But, since the world ended... they decided to release "Alphabetland" early... as their message is needed more than ever.
John Doe has a storied career in punk rock and roots revival bands (even co-authored 2 books about it), in bands like The Knitters with Dave Alvin, in movies like Roadhouse, with a respectable solo career to boot. But what does he do to keep the music going when under quarantine? This podcast hopes to find out. Hear clips of "Alphabetland" and NOW BUY the full album on xtheband.com

EP 16: Trailblazers: SHEYNA GEE Interview & Live Performance

Sheyna Gee is a raspy outlaw country singer from California, now writing, recording and living in Nashville as a performer on Broadway (the busy street where bands play all hours of the day). In this podcast we discuss what California can learn from the scene in Nashville, and what life is like performing for 4 hours nightly on Broadway without breaks (and straws and turtles, too).
