supporting living artists at local seasonal art markets, a joe rogan forgiveness red pill & 26 things i don’t do to make time to paint

    CANDYcolored studio podcast episode 219:
are you a frequenter of art & etsy style markets? we have some really great ones in northern utah – my favorites are the utah art market and the beehive bazaar. collectors can discover new local artists by enjoying these handmade market venues. a red pill based on a recent joe rogan podcast interview with bret weinstein that asks us if we have a line for forgiveness and if we've come to terms with our choices. and my latest list of things i’m avoiding so that i have time to paint. sometimes the best way to get more time to do the things we really want to be doing is to minimize what we’re committing to do – asking ourselves, do i REALLY have to do this? what would happen if i didn’t do it?!

artist tip on being productive and making space in my heart & mind for those things most important

artist tip on being productive and making space in my heart & mind for those things most important

it’s the last week to see springville museum of art’s annual spiritual & religious show! also, on my website under episode 216 you’ll find links and images for jules mccullough’s fantastic newly released christmas cards – buy some for next year or bookmark her page to jump on it next fall. she has the most charming physical and digital cards! (my favs are her illustrations of flamingo, narwhal & whale — oh they’re just delightful!) for our artist & entrepreneur tip this week, i encourage you to listen to marie forleo’s episode 323 all about productivity and 3 things she DOESN'T do. you’ll love these suggestions and i have a few other episodes you can listen to or look out for with similar themes (in the show notes). the main topic for the week is about making space for those important things when we’re struggling with health or emotional challenges of any kind that truly seek to distract us from those things we really want/should be doing or spending time with those we love most. i share 5 strategies and an interview that have helped me face things personally. i’d love to hear what is helping you (email me k@katrinaberg.com) and of course would love to hear how you’re doing as you implement any of these or whatever your heart is desperately trying to teach you ;). sending so much love, support & confidence as you face 2023!! xoxo

mcarthur krishna of “the girls who choose god” books as well as the “girls & boys guide to heavenly mother” books (see CANDYcolored studio podcast episodes 82 & 83) is always inviting us to elevate our minds and souls as we truly “become.” she and gallery program director esther candari put their heads together after the latest “heavenly mother” art show at “writ & vision” in provo to create a new art show and experience. mission accomplished ladies!! mcarthur’s beadwork welcomes you to sacred ground throughout the exhibit journey. she invited 11 other artists (including esther and myself) to create work for the show, “doorways to divinity” (a woman’s journey). take the journey in person until november 29th (tues - fri 4 to 8 pm & sat 12 to 8 pm and make appointments to visit the show during the week of thanksgiving). for an online experience, check out the writ & vision show page and link to the full catalog below. in the upstairs gallery, you’ll find a fundraiser for our dearest artist friend mary brickey (episodes 167 & 40) who lost her lower leg in a serious motorcycle accident last week (all proceeds go directly to mary). we love mary, this community and are so grateful for this journey we get to take together. enjoy the show!!

jamie harmon’s guided journal for girls: my divine identity

    CANDYcolored studio podcast episode 214:
we’ve been counseled repeatedly that it is crucial that we gain our own testimony of jesus christ in order to withstand the difficulties of our day. one small but mighty part of that -- is better understanding who we are – that we are divine children of heavenly parents – with great potential and an eternal destiny. discovering our spiritual gifts and talents will help us not only remember who we are, what we can become, but it will help us be there for others as they too seek to better understand their divine identity. “my divine identity” is a guided journal for girls, and a wonderful tool with 7 principles for women of all ages and places in life - it will help you better support the girls and young women around you. hear all about jamie’s journey & the process of creating this book. she openly shares her heart, offers suggestions for writers, and has some amazing opportunities coming soon for women. enjoy!!

Creative Inspiration, Practical Tips & So Enjoyable!

This is so enjoyable listening to while I'm in the studio painting, I feel like Katrina and I are just hanging out as I create! She's one of the most genuine people and it really comes through in her podcast. It's obvious that she has a true passion and a gift for supporting other women, espcially in their creative pursuits. Not only do I feel more inspired to chase down my artistic goals, but I also appreciate the practicle tips for maintaining and growing a creative business!

Love this podcast!

This podcast is a great companion for an artist at any stage of their career or business. Katrina has years of experience and knows so much about the business of art, instagram, email marketing and connecting with buyers and just the ins and outs of being an artist and mother. She is such a valuable resource and shares all she knows through the podcast as well as the Candy Colored Club, a group of artists she has organized together to participate in curated content to help grow our businesses. She is fantastic and this podcast is such a wonderful resource for all those who are looking for information or encouragement in their artistic practice! Thanks Katrina!
