True crime, casually done. New episodes twice per week, every week.
Issei Sagawa: The Kobe Cannibal (Short)
Great human being? Absolutely not.
Great marketing professional? YEP
25 - The Circleville Letters
If only the murderer called himself Lonely Boy. Then, the CW would definitely pick up the rights to this story.
Cropsey: The Boogeyman of Staten Island (Short)
Sure, he kidnapped a bus full of kids. But leaving him in prison for that just seems so unfair!
24 - The Lead Masks of Vintém Hill
An investigation into which of these murder theories is the least stupid.
The Rise and Fall of Wayne "Silk" Perry: Washington DC’s Most Feared Triggerman (Short)
Featuring an intro from noted rapper, Jay-Zed.
23 - Dr. Death 2: The Crimes of Michael Swango
"But... this was the 90s! They had computers!" -Simon
Incredibly entertaining, candid, and well produced
I have been a major fan of true crime for a majority of my life, and I’ve watched or listened to dozens of shows and podcasts over the years. This is by far one of my favorite. I binged most of the videos the week I discovered them on YouTube. Even though I hardly ever rewatch, reread, or re-listen to content, I often find myself replaying The Casual Criminalist. Everyone working on the podcast are amazing and I greatly appreciate the work they put into producing such a high-quality series.
Simon is incredible
I love listening to Simon deliver these stories. His input is fantastic and the stories are great (I mean they’re terrible, but...you know). I also love that him and Callum refrain from referring to the killers as true geniuses - way to call them out for what they really are. I can’t wait for the “don’t write down your murders” merch.
So Much Fun
If only Simon would turn Business Blaze into a podcast as well.
