    Movie Review Finale - Surf's Up (D)

After three years and three months, The Cereal Show draws to a close. In this final episode Drayton, Quinn, and Seth discuss Dribby’s favourite movie of all time, Surf’s Up. We’re joined by multiple community takes as we discuss how amazing Chicken Joe is before taking a trip down memory lane and inviting a special guest on at the end.

Whether you’re tuning in now or have been since the tech news days, thank you for the support - it’s meant so much to all three of us. We never would’ve imagined so many would choose to listen to our rants, opinions, and jokes, and though we still might not know why, we’re glad we could’ve kept you company on long days, commutes, or just to be white noise.

Love you all, catch ya on the flippity flip

Movie Review - Hunt for Red October (Q)

The only thing longer than Phineas and Ferb’s summer vacation was the Cereal Show’s… but we’re back! Okay, back for a bit. Three final episodes to be exact. Each one dives into a favourite movie of ours, and in this episode, it’s Quinn’s! From Russian music to cooks being an occupational hazard, how terrifying the ocean is and a sprinkle of offending everyone.

We hope you enjoy this return episode, are able to be patient with us getting used to this whole thing again, and finally, we want to thank you for the continued support, jokes, and inquiries about the thing that is, The Cereal Show.

Making an Old Man’s Heart Glad.

Cereal is Dry, The Cereal show however is not! This is what I learned coming into this podcast series. I’m getting on in years, 78 this May in fact. Not knowing what at all I was in for I clicked on this page, popped on my earphones, and began an audio adventure. Hearing what the young people are interested in these days is very entertaining. Not is it only just entertaining, but insightful! Before the cereal show I was clueless on what a Samsung was. Ear Pods? No clue. Stocks? I knew a fair deal in my day but I’ve learned I missed a lot! One of the joys of the cereal show is the film discussions. I’d seen that New Groove character with my grandkids, so I really felt included in the discussion going on. Matter of fact, and you’ll get a kick out of this, I’d pause the pod and give my own two cents about what I thought about the movie. It’s like I was there discussing with the gents! Of course I’m not too in depth like these fellas. Any movie that makes my grandkids laugh is a 10 out of 10 in my book. Maybe one of these days I’ll email in my two cents for a movie like they do towards the end. I need to get my daughter help me log on the hotmail though. All in all I really gotta hand it to the hosts and guests for making this show come alive. Quinn is quite a tender family man, which offers unique perspectives. Seth seems to be a well-traveled artist, but his heavy Wisconsin accent makes his “hot-takes” as the kids say, sound very pleasant! The guests are incredible. There’s this regular guest, or maybe he’s a bit of a staff member, this Drayton fellow. He reminds me of my pal Leonard, we used to go to the bar every Tuesday and Friday until my doctor told me it affects my ulcers. A real smart character he is. Reminds me of my daughters husband in some ways. There was another guest, Elijah! This kid is great! I loved going to the movies as a kid, I remember the switch from paints to technicolor, film to digital, and whatever that 3D junk was. I stopped frequenting the movies around 96. Hearing these young folks so interested in filmmaking really renewed my interest in the stuff! I could go on for a few more hours I estimate, but I gotta do some sorts of Zooming meeting with my daughter at 11 so I’ll end this for now. I’ll tell her about the pod too, don’t you worry! That’s all for me! Love the show! 10 out of 10!

-Donn McCurdy, 78 (this May)
