Thank you from a lifer (and my daughter who just became a lifer)! ☺️
Your recent episode on Growing Up with ADHD changed our family’s life. My teenage daughter has ADHD, although we have never allowed it to be an excuse or let her see this as a ‘deficiency’. Instead, we focus on the fact that this difference has made many (like yourself!) successful entrepreneurs and humans!
However, as her type A mother, I do struggle when she doesn’t perform well on tests and remembering my 8 step verbal ‘to-do’ list that I rattle off as she comes in the door.
The podcast was a wake up call to remind me how to help her become happy and productive. My daughter, who has never listened to you until last night, listened to this episode. She came in the kitchen with tears in her eyes and said, ‘I love that woman. I subscribed to her podcast’. She also wants to have her brain scan!
Your words describing how it feel with ADHD were exactly what she hasn’t been able to quite articulate. She breathed a sigh of relief knowing she isn’t alone. Beyond that revelation, you also reminded ME to let go of pushing for perfect grades and ‘by the book thinking’. Instead, we will embrace her differences, love and support her with everything we have. ❤️❤️❤️
I have been a LIFER for YEARS! I can’t wait to someday meet you and just say thank you in person for all that good you have provide my family, and countless others.
