Episode 211

Matt is back from his trip to NYC and has much to share. There wasn't any golf-related content here other than a quick stop at Chelsea Piers Golf Range, but it was fun talking about New York for a bit, especially Angelo's Coal Oven Pizzeria. If you're not familiar with the brand Canada Goose, you will be after this segment.

Eventually, we got to some golf and dove head-first into the news regarding the USGA and their plans to roll the ball back. There's some heated talk about this, and many talking heads are letting their opinions known. We did the same, and it was a solid conversation.

Matt is back to tinkering. He reviewed some of the changes to his bag and shared some news about the new wedges he'll be gaming from Corey Paul.

We discussed The Valspar, Jordan Spieth's stupid tee shot on 16, and how Matt has slowly crept into second place in the season-long points race for our Locks. From there, the PGA Tour talk snowballed into some LIV Golf trash talking, which is new for us. Lol.

The odds for the Dell Match Play and Puntacana never really happened, but we did make out picks for both events and shared the odds for those players!

Matt Gontarek gave us our Golf Forecast for this weekend's VGN tournament at Mountain Fall GC in Pahrump, and we covered a little bit about the event.

Episode 210 

We have a quick one for you this week. Matt's headed out of town, and Joe is wiped from his trip, so we powered through a short Sunday night session to keep the show going.

The Players was a blast to watch, and while some people may think there wasn't enough drama, we believe watching Scottie Scheffler dissect one of the toughest tests in golf was a joy to watch. He regained the World #1 ranking and is ready to defend his Dell Match Play and Masters Titles over the next month!

Matt and Jeremy got in some golf this past week at Revere Golf Club and the ever-dormant Aliante Golf Club, while Joe went to some place called Bandon Dunes, where ever that is.

We'll be back next week with a full show, some energy, and more golf to talk about as LIV Golf returns this weekend in Tucson, and the Vegas Golf Network is preparing for event number two of the 2023 season!

The Elevated, err, The DESIGNATED events got an overhaul for 2024, and we broke it down a little bit and gave our opinions on the topic.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational was a huge hit over the weekend. And UNLV's very own Kurt Kitayama came away with his first PGA Tour and the biggest win of his worldwide golf tour.

Joe is headed to Bandon! He and  Dan are going to meet up with a few PNW guys, JP the Golf Homie (Go check out our episode with him), and they have a few rounds scheduled.

Matt fell into a state of depression and talked about how it nearly had him stepping away from the game. And he might have if not for Alex Elliot.

EPISODE 208

Thanks, everyone, for tuning in to this week's show. There's a ton of stuff going on in golf, so we had a lot to talk about.

LIV Golf returned, and we were not impressed. As golf fans, we all tried to watch the tourney in Mayakoba, but it was just hard to watch.

The Honda Classic, however, even with a field of what many people called "nobody's," was damn good. The storylines that the PGA Tour continues to pump out there is something that LIV cannot replicate. At least right now, they can't. Who knows down the road?

Another Elevated, Designated event hits the course this weekend on the PGA Tour as the Arnold Palmer Invitational takes center stage with a good as-it-gets field for a non-Major.

Joe and Matt played in the Double Par Skins game out at Desert Pines Golf Club, where Matt was destroyed in his Match Play event, 8 & 6. (that was hard to type). Then we voiced our opinion about Desert Pines and what people can expect when they show up to play there.

Fox5 Meteorologist Matt Gontarek gave us a look into the weekend forecast, and we're finally starting to see some typical weather now that March is finally here. So damn weird this winter has been here in Vegas.

We wrapped up the show with the odds for the API and Puerto Rico Open and made out picks for both tourneys.

Episode 206

My goodness, a LOT is going on in the golfing world.

The WMPO wrapped up on Sunday with the new number-one player in the world, Mr. Scottie Scheffler getting the W. For the first Dedicated/Elevated event, it was pretty good. The Waste(d) crowd always adds a little spice to the event, so this upcoming weekend's tourney at Riviera will, we think, be more telling of how these new tourneys will do going forward.

Tiger Woods isn't going to hurt the ratings for the Genesis, that's for sure. During last week's tourney, he announced he would be teeing it up in LA. This will be his first Tour event since The Open. 

The highly anticipated Netflix show Full Swing hits the streaming service today! It looks like we are all going to binge as much as possible, and we'll decide how to present the overview of the episodes in the coming weeks.

The "Big Game" also took place on Sunday, and we had some things to say about that.

Matt Gontarek gave us the weekend golf forecast with a special shoutout to the VGN's first event, which takes place Saturday at Rhodes Ranch.

We covered the "Who knows where these numbers came from cause the William Hill app is STILL DOWN" odds for The Genesis, made our picks, and then wrapped up the show with some disturbing talks about the "Emergency Sandwich."
