Our Guest: Katisse Buckingham
Katisse Buckingham plays tenor, alto, soprano, baritone saxophones; flute, alto flute, bass flute, and piccolo flute. In his own words, he ”endeavors to break down barriers between musical genres and has always resonated with Duke Ellington’s famous quote, ’There are two kinds of music - good music, and the other kind.’”
Katisse has performed and/or recorded with several well-known artists and has played on numerous films including (improvising) the ”Jazz Flute” scene for the Will Ferrell film Anchorman - The Legend of Ron Burgundy. He also happens to be a childfree man.
Join us as we have a chat with him about anything and everything childfree. -

Is Being Childfree an Introvert Thing?
We received an email from one of our listeners, and one of the questions he raised was: Do you feel like introverts are more comfortable as childfree? Which was followed up by ”some people are charged up by endless talking. It wears me out. Do you feel that folks like me are more happy as childfree?”
The three of us self-identify as introverts so we decided to share our own experiences to try and answer this question.
Are you also an introvert? -
The Myth of the Childfree Person’s Bad Childhood
You might have heard someone say that childfree people have chosen not to have kids because they had horrible childhoods. The logic behind this myth is that having had a bad start in life left us so scarred and broken that we don’t want to even risk re-living it with our own children.
In this episode, we decided to explore this topic with the end goal of debunking this myth. You’ll have to listen to learn if we were successful at it or not!
Customer Reviews
Fantastic
I rarely find podcasts that I truly relate to. I absolutely love this podcast! It gives me a place to hear from people who believe the same as I do, and have chosen to be childfree like myself. 💜
Great topics
I really resonate with the idea for the podcast and the topics are great but I feel the conversations could be more structured because I can’t focus and I feel there is a bit too much free chat. The quality of audio could be better. It sounds like the podcasters use just audio saved on Zoom with minimal editing. I think even lowering the tremble would help. I am sorry for this review but I will keep listening because of the topics and I am willing to edit my review it in the future.
