“The Citizen Stewart Show” is an independent, pull-no-punches podcast about the perils and promise of education and democracy. Hosted by Chris “Citizen” Stewart, CEO of Brightbeam, a nonprofit national network of activists fighting for educational opportunity and justice for every child. And co-hosted by Ravi Gupta, former Obama staffer and former superintendent of a network of charter schools in the South. “The Citizen Stewart Show” shines light on the dark forces keeping our students, schools, and democracy mired in counterproductive politics. No headline or issue is off limits, because education is at the heart of everything in America.

More Chris and Ravi Please
I look forward to listening to Chris and Ravi break down the latest every week. It’s refreshing to hear two people with so much experience and knowledge debate what’s going on in education. It’s never been harder to work in schools, and this show is a good model for how to talk about it.
SCS
This show has entirely changed my perspective on how I will educate my children and the systems I will use to complete their K-8 education.
I am excited to have been a part of the SCS from the beginning and can’t wait to see the show grow even more.
The topics discussed on the SCS go beyond topical education sound bites and dive into the nitty gritty stuff no one one talks about.
My only hope for this show is to NOT turn into other podcasts that only discuss problems with no/little mention of solutions. But, to help rally those of us who care about education to bring on some kind of change.
Enough is enough.

This is the podcast we need
Chris and Ravi are tackling the conversations the education world needs to have. I love that they aren’t afraid to push each other to think more critically about the topics they care about. This is the type of podcast we need if we’re going to get better at helping kids learn and grow.
