The Man Who Corrupted Hadleyburg, by Mark Twain VINTAGE

Some consider today’s story a replay of the Garden of Eden story. Twain was very interested in pointing out the vulnerability of folks who overtly professed piety and purity. Whether it’s Pudd’nhead Wilson, Huckleberry Finn, or The Prince and the Pauper, oftentimes reading Twain leads to introspection, and a reinvestigation of things we may have taken for granted. Of course, he leads you to this personal place with his razor wit and wisdom. I hope you like our journey to Hadleyburg.

Wonderful stories, wonderfully narrated

This podcast is a wonderful find. The selection of tales is wonderful and the narration is impressive.

Thank you!

This podcast has introduced me to so many short stories and novellas that I had never heard of and should have! Today I listened to The Machine Stops by E.M. Forester. I’m blown away. Forester’s astute knowledge of human nature has predicted humanity’s march towards machination and AI take over. It was a great listen, as this podcast always is, but this one really hit home. Thank for bringing this to my attention!
