691 - When You Feel Like It Is Time To Start Something New, Something More Aligned With Your Heart

If you ever wondered why I shut down my Podcast Answer Man business and rebranded myself as the Mindset Answer Man, this episode will give greater insight into my decision than I've shared previously.

Recently, I hosted an "Ask Me Anything" session on the topic of "The Business of Coaching."

Kate Nankivell let me know that she would be participating live and that she planned to ask the following question:

"I’ve just started a new podcast called The Shape of Kate. I’m at the beginning of my much needed weight loss and regain my fitness and health journey and I want to share this journey and so much more through this podcast. Now this represents a departure from my current business so I’m thinking about my monetization strategies.

My clear intention with this podcast is to be an inspiration through sharing my journey but not a weight loss coach or fitness expert. I’ll interview those experts as I go. They rightly claim their expertise. My monetization ideas at this early stage is to bring on advertisers who pay for results. Eg when people who listen and click through to their offer and/or use my coupon code they pay me an agreed affiliate fee."

When it came time to have my conversation with Kate, I had already created an outline of insights that would have helped her optimize the effectiveness of her affiliate income streams, plus I had created a list of several other income streams that most people have not considered.

Yet, within a few moments into our conversation, I closed the browser that had all the pre-outlined insights that I had prepared. It had become clear to me that there was a much more powerful and important conversation to be had.

Have a listen to this episode to see where our conversation went.  After the conversation, I give a commentary on the overall experience.  I know that you'll gain a lot of value from this conversation.

If you are resonating with the content that I create, you will find one or more of the following products and services extremely valuable and life transformative.

690 - Take Your Business To New Levels of Success With Great Sales Funnels!

Did you ever think there would be a day when you would get an episode of The Cliff Ravenscraft Show where I would be talking about building and optimizing Sales Funnels?

No, it's not a joke. That's really what this episode is about.

In the introduction, I mentioned how I had "unconsciously" judged Russell Brunson and his Click Funnels Brand as something that was not in alignment with my way of approaching business.

While I'm not sure that I'll ever become a Click Funnels Customer, I am already a fan of Russell's "The Secrets Trilogy" which are three books titled DOTCOM SECRETS, EXPERT SECRETS and TRAFFIC SECRETS.

I've already received so much value from the first few chapters of the first book that I've committed to doing a full commentary series in my Train With Cliff Audio Journal Podcast on each of these three books.

Have a listen to this episode and you'll discover why.

689 - How to Achieve a Mindset that Leads to Success in Business

689 - How to Achieve a Mindset that Leads to Success in Business

How to Achieve a Mindset that Leads to Success in Business
Why do some people achieve great success in business while others fail?

The way they think about and approach their business is a big factor, and that's something that i was asked to talk about as a guest on a popular business podcast.

In this podcast episode, I'm going to share with you the questions that I was asked and the outline that I used to respond to each question.

To start us off, can you talk a bit about your background and how you've become an authority on podcasting and business?

I started podcasting as a hobby, with my wife, about the television show LOST in 2005.
We were in the first hundred or so podcasters in the world.
By our 3rd episode, we had 27,000 subscribers.
By the end of our first year in podcast, we launched several other shows and were reaching 100’s of Thousands of listeners.
Within 2 years, I made the decision to leave the family business to do podcasting full-time.
Main source of income was Podcast Coaching - Teaching people how to podcast.
Things really took off, professionally, as the result of a few influencers that had become coaching clients.
We hosted a Disney Cruise for our community.

Our story got the attention of the CEO and co-founder of BlogWorld, the industry leading conference in social media at the time.
I was invited to come speak.
    Room was standing room only.

I was invited to become the Director of Podcasting for the BlogWord, which eventually rebranded to New Media Expo.
In 12 years, I helped more than 40,000 people successful launch their podcast, generating a few million dollars in revenue through the process.

In a broad sense, what is a "business mindset"? What all does that term include and describe?

I find it helpful to contrast the term “business mindset” with the term “employee mindset.”
A business mindset includes the following beliefs.

People pay for value or transformation, not for your time.
You do not have to work hard for money, you simply need to provide value.
How much you charge for your products and services are based upon how much value you bring to your client/customer.
There is no such thing as failure, there is only education. Temporary setbacks allow you to learn new lessons that lead towards the perfect plan to get to your desired outcome.
What doesn’t get measured, doesn’t improve.
    etc.

What is the difference between a "growth mindset" and a "fixed mindset", and which one is better for an entrepreneur?

A fixed mindset is the belief that you have to work with the amount of skills, abilities and talents that you were born with, or that you have attained by a certain age.

There’s a saying that goes… “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”

A growth mindset is one that believes that you never stop learning and growing.

You can always learn a new skill.
Abilities and talents can be acquired through passion and practice.

A growth mindset is better for everyone, but it is certainly a required mindset for any entrepreneur who will need to pivot in business to keep up with the changing world we live in.

Why is your mindset important as a business leader? What are the advantages of having the right mindset?
Mindset boils down to “A set of beliefs that you hold in your mind.”

    What you believe is possible.
What you believe is not possible.
How you believe things SHOULD BE
What you believe you SHOULD or SHOULD NOT do.

The problem is that most of our beliefs were established during the first 7 years of our life, before we had a rational critical thinking mind.

    ALL BELIEFS HAVE CONSEQUENCES

Our beliefs determine how we think and feel about any situation in life.
How we think and feel determines what actions we take.
The actions we take determines the results that we get.

So every belief (or your mindset) about anything has either a Positive or Negative Consequence.

The advantage of having a GROWTH MINDSET is that you can actually CHANGE what you bel

688 - Does The Path You Are On Have A Heart?

688 - Does The Path You Are On Have A Heart?

I am currently reading a book and I came across the following dialog...

Anything is one of a million paths.

Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path, if you *feel* you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions.

To have such clarity you must lead a disciplined life. Only then will you know that any path is only a path and there is no affront to oneself, or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you to do.

Your decision to keep on the path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition.

I warn you. Look at every path closely and deliberately.

Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question.

This question is one that only a very wise person asks. Does this path have a heart?

All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. In my own life I could say I have traversed long long paths, but I am not anywhere.

Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't.

One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it. The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you.

But how do you know when a path has no heart?

Before you embark on any path ask the question: Does this path have a heart? If the answer is no, you will know it, and then you must choose another path.

But how will I know, for sure, whether a path has a heart or not?

Anyone would know that. The trouble is nobody asks the question; and when a man finally realizes that he has taken a path without a heart, the path is ready to kill him. At that point very few men can stop to deliberate, and leave the path.

How should I proceed to ask the question properly? Just ask it.

I mean is there a proper method, so I would not lie to myself and believe the answer is yes when it is really no?

    Why would you lie?

Perhaps because at the moment the path is pleasant and enjoyable.

That is nonsense. A path without a heart is never enjoyable. You have to work hard even to take it. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy; it does not make you work at liking it.

In this podcast, I share the source of this dialog and my own line by line commentary.

687 - The Move From A To Do List to A "TO BE" List

The Move From A "To Do" List to A "To Be" List

Have you ever been overwhelmed by how much you "have to do" and found yourself thinking that you simply "don't have enough time" to get everything done?

Have you ever got caught up in the endless search for the best method of tracking all of your tasks (or To Do Items)?

Over the years, I've been paid thousands of dollars to teach people some of my organizational methods for To Do List Management and Time Management.

However, the biggest breakthrough in my life was when I stoped focusing on "To Do Lists."

For the past few years, I have not made any regular use of any "to do list."

I discovered something far more valuable.

I call it my "To Be List."

686 - If I Argue For My Limitations, I Will Get To Keep Them Every Time

686 - If I Argue For My Limitations, I Will Get To Keep Them Every Time

Below is the outline that I used to create this podcast episode. I thought that including each of these incredibly powerful questions in the show notes would be of tremendous value you to you.

I used to struggle to believe that I could make a living encouraging others through conversations (coaching).

    My Limiting Beliefs:

You don’t get paid to do your “hobby” or “the things you love to do” in this world.

Why should you earn money doing what you love when there are so many other people who suffer working two and three jobs, doing things that make them miserable, just to barely provided for the minimum needs of their family?

People understand and accept you in a “known, trusted and responsible career” such as insurance agent?

What would people think if they learned you left that behind to encourage people through your podcast content?
What if you succeed? Would people become bitter and resentful that you are getting paid well to work that fills you with joy while they continue to suffer their soul-sucking day job or jobs?

What I discovered along the way was the following:
    1. THE POWER OF DAY DREAMING!
    2. Your Subconscious Mind Will Always Work To Answer Any Question That You Put To It.
    3. Change Your Questions And You Will Change Your Life
POSSIBILITY QUESTIONS THAT OPENED THE WAY FOR ME!!!!

I wonder what my life would be like if I were to make a full-time living from having encouraging conversations with others (Coaching)?

How would my life be different?
How would I feel after working with each client?
In what way would my coaching benefit the lives of those I coach?

    LIMITATION:

I’ve got a lot of financial commitments already, I need money NOW, and I simply don’t see any path to a business model that will allow me to do this work.

    POSSIBILITY QUESTIONS:

Who is already out there, making a living from coaching, that I can study and learn from?
How much money would I need to generate, per month, to live up to all my financial commitments? (Let’s pretend that it is $10K Per month)
What are at least five products/services, that I could begin offering, that would allow me to earn generate $10K per month from my passion for coaching, teaching, encouraging, educating, etc?

Can I find 1 Client to pay $10K per month?
Can I find 2 Clients to pay $5K per month?
Can I find 4 Clients to pay $2.5K per month?
Can I find 10 Clients to pay $1K per month?
Can I find 20 Clients to pay $500 per month?
Can I find 40 Clients to pay $250 per month?
Can I find 100 Clients to pay $100 per month?

    LIMITATION:

I have so many unresolved issues in my own life, why would anyone would trust me as their coach?

(This question asks your subconscious mind to come up with answers to support your limitation)

Ask this question and you’ll be surprised at the limitless answers that will come as to why people would not want to hire you

    POSSIBILITY QUESTIONS:

Is there anyone in this world without any unresolved issues?

Great! I’m in good company with the human race.

Are there any struggles, obstacles, limitations or any other issues that I’ve faced in my past that I have successfully overcome?

Make a list as long as you can.

    “The Obstacle Is The Way.”
    “Turn your suffering into Wisdom”
Document and share what you’ve learned!

In what way will my current un-resolved issues give me even further credibility and wisdom as I begin to tackle them, one by one as I continue my life’s journey?

    LIMITATION:

I don’t have enough experience or as much experience as so many other people who already do this work.
I’m not nearly as qualified as others.
Why would anyone hire me when they could hire someone else who has so much more experience and qualifications?

Ask this question and your subconscious mind will give you many convincing answers to support this limitation.

    POSSIBILITY QUESTIONS:

Are there people out there who have less experience than I have in this area who woul
