The Clone Wars (TNG "Up the Long Ladder"‪)‬ Kirking Off: A Warped Star Trek Shakedown

    • TV Reviews

"Now hear this. Now hear this. On this week's episode we reach into the archives of our old series called, Trek Talk, bonus episodes previously recorded for our members-only podcast. And on this episode Nathan and Dean get together and hang out with the space Irish. Worf gets the Klingon version of the measles, drinks poison tea, and reminds us of his pride and courage. Picard makes a call to Crusher and begs her to return to the show. The lads get into some of the terms presented this week like: European Hegemony and Neo Transcendentalists. It's a TNG episode that feels like it could have been in the Original Series, and the good captain seems as if he is completely uninterested in his passengers and doing his best to dump them at first opportunity. Fortunately, we find some clones and they need breeding stock, so the space Irish will have to make a decision - embrace polyandry or be vented into space by an irritable Picard. Nate wants Riker to murder clone babies, and Dean talks about the Blade Runner replicants and their lack of emotional development -- again. We present to you Up the Long Ladder from Star Trek: The Next Generation."
