Batman: Noel by Lee Bermejo, Barbara Ciardo, and Todd Klein
Jingle Bells, Batman smells... It's the most wonderful time of the year in Gotham, but not everyone is feeling festive. Batman: Noel retells Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. But this time, Scrooge isn't some grumpy old man. This time, he's Gotham's Caped Crusader, the Batman. In our final episode of the year, we explore why Batman is an updated Scrooge archetype and why the themes of A Christmas Carol are still relevant today. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

It's been adapted into a hit Broadway musical. It's made it onto Banned Books lists. Now, we are proud to bring you into the Comix Crunch Club's discussion of Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic by critically acclaimed cartoonist Alison Bechdel. The graphic memoir explores her relationship with her late father and her own journey of self-discovery and how all of it is contextualized by literature. It deals with themes of family, gender roles, sexual identity, mental illness, abuse, and suicide. We explore some of these themes in our latest discussion.
CONTENT / TRIGGER WARNING: As stated above, there are brief mentions of suicide, mental illness, and abuse in both the comic and discussion. There are also discussions of sexuality in our discussion and illustrated sexual acts in the comic. Listener and reader discretion is advised.
