BONUS: Our Favourite Films 80-71 (w/ Dan from Netflix N Swill)

The countdown of Paul's favoutite films of all time continues! This time he has long time podcasting buddy and all round "fine" guy, Dan, from the Netflix N Swill podcast on to talk their 80th to 71st favourite films.

Dan is generally a hard man to please, so just to hear him talk about ten films without referring to them as fine is amazing all on its own, while Paul is getting increasingly heady about his choices as he moves higher through his list. So settle in, grab a drink and be prepared to spill some while laughing at some of those choices, as The Countdown continues ...

Please thank Dan for coming on the show (and spending ages ordering his top 100 favourite films) by checking out his and Caleb's show at https://www.netflixnswill.com/

Train to Busan presents Peninsula review

Train to Busan presents Peninsula review

Wayne needs a week to catch up on ... well, whatever it is Wayne does with his COPIOUS amounts of free time, so it's up to Paul to generate a review for all of you good listeners. And, of course, he goes for the sequel to one of his favourite films of the last decade, Train to Busan. This one is called Peninsula, or if you live in North America, Train to Busan PRESENTS Peninsula (just in case you had zero idea what this film actually was).

Can Peninsula deliver the goods like its predecessor? Will Paul get any kind of thank you from the film-makers for again sprucing their wears hard across the podcast world? And would Wayne have actually liked it?

Learn the answers to all these questions and more, as The Countdown continues ...

    Top 10 Illogical Movie Scenes

    Top 10 Illogical Movie Scenes

    Countdown #286

In this Countdown, Wayne tries to channel his long ago lost sense of movie-related logic in order to talk about things which are illogical, while Paul struggles with the logic behind ordering such a list. In other words, the guys are talking the Top 10 (Most) Illogical Movie Scenes

And when all is said and done, there is just the one crossover involving a film which only one of the guys publicly acknowledges. But rest assure there's plenty enough snark and umbrage for all - including Steven Spielberg, Toy Story, and Christopher Nolan - as The Countdown continues ...

    Mulan (2020) review

    Mulan (2020) review

Warning: There are SPOILERS for this film and the 1998 version throughout this review.

Disney recently tested the Covid-soured waters of the world by releasing their brand new $200 million adaptation of the beloved animated classic, Mulan, on both Disney+ and to theatres where it was safer to do so. And the result...
Well, let's just say, neither Wayne nor Paul were all that impressed. And that's despite the lack of songs!

Find out if Mulan is worth $30 to stream, as The Countdown continues ...

    Top 10 Director's Sophomore Films

    Top 10 Director's Sophomore Films

    Countdown #285

This week the guys sneak into #FilmTwitter territory to countdown the very best films from second time directors.

Of course there have been many amazing debuts over the years, but popular opinion would have it that most directors suffer from a significant sophomore slump when they release their second film.

But not these film-makers. Paul and Wayne unveil an impressive array of sophomore films - some of which rank among their very favourite films of all time.

Why DIDN'T Speilberg make these lists? How many suburbs have really stupid names in Perth, Western Australia? And exactly how does one pronounce "sophomore"?

Learn the answers to all these questions and more - hopefully amid a bunch of laughs - as The Countdown continues ...

Bill and Ted Face the Music review

Bill and Ted Face the Music review

So after the listeners banded together to force Wayne to watch those most righteous dudes, Bill and Ted, go on their first EXCELLENT adventure, Wayne then quietly checked out their Bogus Journey ... and hated it.

Which meant Paul was full of trepidation when he talked his co-host into Facing The Music with Bill and Ted. But is Wayne pleasantly surprised? And which film does he think is the best in the series?

Find out as The Countdown continues ...

and Hosting the Podcast of a Lifetime, Paul and Wayne

You can not manufacture twenty plus years of geniune friendship and that is what these fellas have. Moreoever, Paul offers insightful if not a bit harsh criticisms to film. Wayne offers sizzle with his infectious laughter and his deeply problematic humor.

How can you not love this podcast, so great. The guys genuinely have fun talking movies, and sometimes TV, with each other. You can tell they have a passion for what they are doing and both of the guys, except Wayne, really know their stuff! (Sorry Wayne, I don’t know why it’s so fun to take a poke at you all the time, it’s out of love really). They also do a great job on the pod and on social media involving and interacting with the fans. If you like movies and you like to laugh this is the pod for you!
