Our Top 10 Favourite Songs in Film

Our Top 10 Favourite Songs in Film

    Countdown #347

This week the guys open a port to their hearts and invite you to come along for the ride, as they name their top 10 favourite songs used in films. Of course, there's a mismatch in the brief - despite some very clear chat messages (screenshots to be posted to social media upon request hahaha) - which means Wayne is working harder to justify the scene he has chosen, while Paul is all about how good the song is.

Just the same, there's 20 songs here that speak to the boys in one way or another, so tune in, sit back and prepare to be teleported away to the sounds of an especially musical ep (no, no THAT kind of musical; NEVER that kind!) ... as the Countdown continues.

    No Time to Die review

    No Time to Die review

Wayne can barely conceal the swell in his pants for this week's review. It's kind of understandable though, as he's been having to put a lid on it since April of 2020 when the final installment in the Daniel Craig James Bond franchise was originally meant to release. But now, finally, it's time to die and Wayne is allll over it. Paul, meanwhile, offers a more down to earth, less squealing (more sleepy) fan-person take. So, yes, the inevitable clash of perspectives eventually comes to pass in this review.

Find out just how large that clash is - as well as so much more - as The Countdown continues ...

    Nicolas Cage VERSUS Bruce Willis

    Nicolas Cage VERSUS Bruce Willis

    Countdown #346

This week's short and not-so-sweet Countdown pits the filmographies of two everyday people action stars, Nicolas Cage and Bruce Willis, against each other to determine who has made the superior mark on cinema! Except along the way, Wayne mortally offends Paul with one of his choices, and from there it's on for young and old ...

Who doesn't rate Sin City? Who thinks The Last Boy Scout is anything other than a passable early 90s action film? And who forgets Looper was even a thing?

    Last Night in Soho review

    Last Night in Soho review

Paul is all excited because Edgar Wright's newest film, Last Night in Soho, has finally reached Australian shores as part of the British Film Festival. Wayne shares some of that excitement, but doesn't have the same Wright expectations, so who ends up liking this one more? And just how much is Wayne's take on the film inflated by the '60s fashion in display?

Learn the answers to these critically important questions - and more! - as The Countdown continues ...

Top 10 Box Office Flops of the 2010s (with Jason from Binge Movies)

Top 10 Box Office Flops of the 2010s (with Jason from Binge Movies)

    Countdown #345

This week Jason from the Binge Movies podcast returns to the show to assist in counting down a brief so complex, it was destined to go completely off the rails (and does!): the Top 10 Box Office Flops of the 2010s.

Whether ranking this one by actual box office return, unmet expectations, how terrible the film was, or by some intensely personal combination of the three factors, Paul, Wayne and Jason get into some of the worst received films of the last decade, and no studio or genre is safe!

But rest assured, that even when a guest is present and the topic may not lend itself to inappropriate humour, the boys will never, ever let you down in that regard. in fact, things get so out of control that Jason gets swept along for the ride in the first five minutes, uttering a word so filthy, he's never said it before on his show.

Find out what that word is - as well as a whole bunch of films you probably don't need to watch, if you've been fortunate enough to avoid them so far - as The Countdown continues ...

Always A Fun Time

Paul and Wayne never disappoint. Between the topics of each main show, the back and forth banter, and the review episodes they always deliver.

Best Movie Podcast on the Web

I've had the pleasure of sharing the mic with these gentlemen and you'll never find two hosts more passionate or knowledgeable about films- or more gracious and giving with their time or energy, especially Paul. Hands-down the best movie show on the web, indie or otherwise. Bloody love you gents. Always an amazing laugh. Thank you for years and years of great entertainment.

Jason @BingeMovies ,

and Hosting the Podcast of a Lifetime, Paul and Wayne

You can not manufacture twenty plus years of geniune friendship and that is what these fellas have. Moreoever, Paul offers insightful if not a bit harsh criticisms to film. Wayne offers sizzle with his infectious laughter and his deeply problematic humor.
