Academic archaeologist Amy O'Keeffe takes us on a fascinating journey of herstorical body modification.

Academic archaeologist Amy O'Keeffe takes us on a fascinating journey of herstorical body modification.

My name is Amy O’Keeffe and I’m an Irish archaeologist! I’m currently a PhD Candidate with the Classics department of Trinity College Dublin (https://www.tcd.ie/classics/postgraduate/degrees/current-students.php).
My research project focuses on body modification practices in the ancient Mediterranean, including scarification, head shaping, and tattooing. As with previous projects, my focus is trying to shed some light on under-represented people, which usually tends to be women. My goal is to emphasize the importance that these body modifications had in cultural, and self, expression, and to refute the dismissive and reductive biases in academic writings about this topic.
As well as all this research, I am an avid crocheter, knitter, and cross-stitcher. During the pandemic, when I was doing my masters degree from home, I would be crafting while in class, and found that it helped me focus.
You can see some of my projects on my Instagram @amyofthebarrow.

Intuitive Consultant and Akashic Records reader Mary Baxter talks about being our wisest selves.

Intuitive Consultant and Akashic Records reader Mary Baxter talks about being our wisest selves.

    Mary Baxter
The language of intuition brings Inner Wisdom into my life every single day.  This was the first step to reading the Akashic Records. Almost 30 years have gone by since the world of the Akashic Field opened up for me. I was a special education teacher at the time.
The Akashic Soul Profile & Clearing gave me a deep look into life from a very different perspective. I found my calling. Years of throwing hexagrams with the I Ching gave way to pendulum dowsing and muscle testing in the Akashic Records.
The more I gave these readings to clients, the more my intuition grew, the clairvoyance and clairaudience, and especially the inner knowing.
I studied spirituality and world religions, gemstone energy healing, reiki, and massage, along with other energy healing modalities. I wondered what was happening in the traditional academic world around this perspective.
I went to grad school at CIIS, the California Institute of Integral Studies, and received my Masters Degree in Transformative Leadership and my Doctorate in Transformative Inquiry. Transformation: Lasting Change.
ProQuest: This link is my PhD dissertation (free).
The paperback version is on Amazon : The Life Stories of 21st Century Spiritual Healers
As of December 2022 - Wrote my first novel (the first draft). You'll have to wait ; )

I’m not creative but this podcast inspires me.

Not being creative myself I love this podcast. Haden’s guests are so interesting and inspiring. Haden herself really is curious and her interviews travel in great directions.
