The Cyclical Doula Podcast: Fertility Awareness, Charting Cycles, and Reproductive Health Education

Emmamma

The Cyclical Doula Podcast is a space for honest conversations about cycles, body literacy, motherhood, and what it actually looks like to live in relationship with your body. I’m Emma — Your Cyclical Doula. I’m a certified SymptoPro Instructor, fertility awareness educator, miscarriage doula, and mom of two. I teach women how to chart their fertility signs, understand their cycles, and rebuild trust with their bodies — and this podcast is where those teachings meet real life. Some episodes are personal reflections on hormones, cycle shifts, charting practices, and the messy, tender realities of womanhood. But this podcast is also deeply rooted in conversation. You’ll hear interviews with doulas, educators, clinicians, wellness practitioners, and women with lived experience — people working across fertility, birth, hormones, nervous system regulation, mental health, and motherhood. Together, we explore what’s working, what needs to change, and what women deserve to know about their bodies and their care. These conversations are grounded and human, thoughtful dialogue about cycles, embodiment, informed choice, and learning to listen to what the body is communicating. Whether you’re postpartum, trying to make sense of your chart, navigating hormonal changes, or simply tired of being told your body is too much, this space is for you. Your body isn’t broken — it’s cyclical, communicative, and worthy of care. Let’s talk about it together.

Beyond Protocols: Dr. Tarah Davis on Root-Cause Healing

In this episode, Emma sits down with Dr. Tarah Davis, a functional medicine pharmacist and founder of The Rooted Farmacy, to explore the transformative power of root-cause healing. Dr. Davis shares her personal journey from severe childhood illness to becoming a trauma-informed functional medicine practitioner. The conversation delves deep into why gut health is foundational to overall wellness, explaining that gut health is not about symptoms but about the intricate connection between your immune system, nervous system, and digestion. Key topics include: understanding the gut microbiome and its role in hormone production and breakdown; how perimenopause is often misdiagnosed and is really about metabolic dysfunction, blood sugar imbalance, and accumulated stress; the use of continuous glucose monitors to track real-time blood sugar patterns; why functional medicine requires a 6-month commitment and a 'ready, willing, and able' mindset; the importance of looking at the whole person from birth onwards; how gut health impacts fertility, mood, autoimmunity, and weight loss resistance; and why one-on-one personalized approaches work better than one-size-fits-all protocols. Dr. Tarah Davis emphasizes that you're not broken—you've been set up for failure by lifestyle and misinformation, and healing begins with learning to love your body. Accessing Your Subconscious Wisdom: Hypnotherapy & Trauma Release with Dr. Jennifer Schlueter

In this conversation, Emma sits down with Dr. Jennifer Schlueter, a trauma-informed hypnotherapist, breathwork facilitator, and EFT practitioner who specializes in supporting women navigating endometriosis and other hormone-related conditions. Dr. Jennifer shares how she discovered the power of hypnotherapy to access the subconscious mind and release stored trauma that manifests as physical pain and emotional dysregulation. Together, they explore the profound connection between our emotional experiences and our bodies—and how what we've been through shapes the way our bodies communicate with us. You'll learn what hypnotherapy actually is (and how it differs from entertainment hypnosis), why women often prioritize everyone else's needs over their own, and how cyclical living can transform not just individual health but society as a whole. Dr. Jennifer breaks down how breathwork, EFT tapping, and dance can help release tension and shift your nervous system in real time.
