In Celtic folklore, there's no lack of familiarty with the fair folk, sometimes called the fairy folk, but this concept of magical and spritely beings living in a parallel dimension to humans, is not unique to Celtic or English folklore; being like this exist also, of example, in Malay culture. I'm Tanner Campbell and this is the Dictionary of Mythology and Folklore's entry for Orang Bunian.

Awesome podcast

Love Tanner’s deep wisdom and knowledge on this topic and all his other content.

Mr. Furious ,

A well-made, easily digestible, highly enjoyable show!

Mythology is the kind of topic that kind of lends itself to deep dives, and that’s reflected in the kind of shows you normally see on the topic. This show, though, demonstrates that doesn’t always have to be the case. Tanner does a great job of taking a specific aspect of mythology and explaining it in a way that’s both edifying and entertaining, and does it in just a few minutes. A great listen!
