The cash-based medical practice isn't the best model in healthcare but it's the best one we have. I often catch myself wondering what legacy I'll leave behind; not that it's important to leave a legacy but I love the art of medicine and would love to leave it better than when I entered it or at least have a meaningful impact on it for everything that it's given me. 
A cash pay practice is one in which I deal with the patient directly. And building such a practice creates a community of like minded physicians who will likely be my fellow supporters. And it's the kind of system in which I would like to practice one day.

I recently interviewed Jeff at Practis which is a marketing firm for medical practices. He was quite helpful and gave me some general advice and broke down the prices which comes out to somewhere around $900/mo for me to have a social media campaign, a website, and a few other services all built out over a 30 day period. 
You can check out some of the themes they use on their website to see if it's the kind of website you'd like for your practice. Again, the website design isn't the most important factor but what you have on your website. 
I really like the way OSHI appears as a website - this is the kind of design I would like for my site which is something I can discuss with Jeff's design team.
