Industry 4.0 (the Industrial Internet of Things) and Supply Chain - a chat with Dominik Metzger

We're starting the week off with a great episode. My guest on the podcast today is Dominik Metzger. Dominik is the Program Manager for SAP's Industry 4.0 (aka Industrial Internet of Things) portfolio which is branded as Industry 4.Now by SAP. Dominik and I had an excellent conversation about Industry 4.0 - what it is, how it can help companies in all kinds of ways (including with their sustainability initiatives), and what the future of Industry 4.0 (Industry 5.0?) looks like.

Industrial Internet of Things and Supply Chain - a chat with W. David Stephenson

In this episode I caught with an old online buddy, W. David Stephenson (aka @Data4All on Twitter). David is a prolific writer on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) on his Stephenson Strategies website as well as writing a regular column for Industry Week, a speaker, and author of the book The Future is Smart: How Your Company Can Capitalize on the Internet of Things--and Win in a Connected Economy. I asked David to come on the show to chat about all aspects of the IIoT and we had an awesome conversation spanning shipping, automotive, manufacturing, and many more topics.

Transportation Management and Logistics Business Network better together - a chat with Petra Diessner and Bill King

In SAP we have lots of different supply chain solutions. Two in particular Transportation Management (TM), and the Logistics Business Network (LBN), are very complementary and so SAP has an offer around them. I wanted to know more so I invited Petra Diessner, SAP's LBN Solution Manager, and Bill King, SAP's TM solution manager to come on the podcast to tell me about their respective solutions, why they work so well together, and about the SAP offer. We had a great chat, and I learned loads - I hope you will too!

Optimizing asset management for your digital supply chain - a chat with Tom Kurtz

We haven't talked enough about assets on this podcast - what an asset is, asset management strategies, and how the asset management world is evolving as assets become smart and connected. To address this, I invited on a friend and colleague Tom Kurtz. Tom heads up IoT Business Innovation at SAP and has a very strong asset management pedigree. And because Tom is a good friend, you can hear in this podcast that not only did we have a great conversation about asset management, we also had a good time doing so! I hope you find it fun and informative too.

Using machine learning to increase visibility, and forecasting in global shipping - a chat with Portcast.io's Nidhi Gupta

Using machine learning to increase visibility, and forecasting in global shipping - a chat with Portcast.io's Nidhi Gupta

The maritime shipping industry has for a very long time been extremely opaque, analog, and consequently data poor. Fortunately that is starting to change. One company helping to change that is Singapore's Portcast.io. On this episode of the podcast, I was fortunate enough to get to chat with Nidhi Gupta (@NidhiG_Portcast on Twitter), co-founder and CEO of Portcast.io. We had a great chat (where I learned loads about this industry) about how access to all kinds of data is helping Portcast.io (and by extension their customers) get a far better idea about when ships are likely to arrive or leave ports. This is crucial data for many organisations.

Love this podcast

I'm new to learning about supply chains and this podcast has been a great introduction. Tom has a wide range of guests on the show to introduce and discuss different aspects of supply chain. Definitely a great listen no matter your expertise level. I also love how Tom lets the guests guide the conversation and asks interesting questions. One of my new favorite listens.
