The Disappearance of Susan Swedell #108 Weeknight Mysteries

    • True Crime

Strange events take place in the Swedell home, just one week after Susan vanished. it seems like someone left a couple of clues, but why...

What happened to Susan Swedell, and was she murdered by the tall, strong young man whose car she got into at a service station in the middle of a blizzard on January 19, 1988, in Minnesota.  Susan was working two part time jobs, including one at Kmart, and had left Kmart wearing clothing more appropriate for a date in the Summer than for the cold weather outside.  She had what seemed like an unusually busy social life, with complaints about the many daily personal calls she was receiving at work from people she had met, some presumably as a result of her activity on pay-per-minute chat lines.  After parking her overheating car at a service station, Susan got into the car of a young man in a leather jacket, and was never seen again by her family or friends.  She is now considered missing, and possibly murdered, by local law enforcement

On today's episode, Juras and Glenn examine this strange case and focus on some of the mysterious discrepancies in the facts and theories around Susan Swedell's disappearance.
