Ep 82: Cultivating Coziness In Your Life

Ep 82: Cultivating Coziness In Your Life

When you're going through a difficult period, recovering from a trauma, dealing with separation or divorce, or healing from grief,  there's a natural instinct to close in and go into a hibernation mode, where you feel comforted and safe.  This can bring you such peace and calm.

There is a level of coziness we want to experience during this time of healing or a time when you need to recharge your batteries and find a space just for yourself.  It's an opportunity to practice what the Danish call "hygge".  (HOO-guh)

It's creating that atmosphere that works for YOU in your new life after divorce.  It's what makes you feel cozy and what brings you happiness.

In today's episode, Joy talks about 4 steps to creating a cozy retreat of your own, including your environment, your mood, your friendships and your thankfulness.

And this coziness is focused on the home, but what if you could take it out into other areas of your life?  How would you feel taking it on the road and into your workplace?

Ep 81: How to Visualize Who You Are Becoming

Ep 81: How to Visualize Who You Are Becoming

When you're going through the hard times of divorce and co-parenting, you can often get "stuck" in the ruts that things won't ever get better -- that you'll be in this place of unhappiness forever.  But even though you can't see it now, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it can and WILL get better.

But you can't just wait for your life to start, you need to visualize who you want to be and how you want to live.  It's time to create that for yourself.  You need to get past the ruts that have been hard-wired into your brain and create NEW neural pathways.

Make new dreams in the 8 areas in the wheel of life:  emotional / occupational / intellectual - personal growth / environmental / financial / social / physical / spiritual.

Don't let yourself get hung up in the past, learn how to create your future.  Listen in for the steps to get that journey started, to work through making your dreams a reality and move into the next (and best) version of yourself.

Download your free dream journal at www.divorce-confidante.com/dreams

And when you're ready to put those dreams into reality -- schedule a free consultation call about how to move from "where you are" to "where you want to be".

Ep 80: 4 Steps to Get Closer to God

Ep 80: 4 Steps to Get Closer to God

This year for me is a year to "explore".  And one of the things I'm working on is exploring a deeper relationship and connection with God.  I figure if this is something I'm working on, then maybe it's something you're working on too.  Maybe it's something we can work on together.

So as I'm working on my connection, I'm looking to work through the following:
    Overthinking / Worry
    Negative Self-Talk
    People Pleasing
Aligning My Friendships to Who I'm Becoming

This is starting out as a year-long process, but it's more of a way to let go, surrender and connect.  It won't really be limited to this year, but more of a process that I can keep peeling back layer after layer and deepening the relationship.

If you're on a similar journey, or if you want to start a closer walk with God, listen in and see if any of these can help you find a path for you.
