    Dr. Cellino is currently the Executive Director of Columbus Speech and Hearing Center. Before joining the Columbus Speech & Hearing Center team, she completed externships with the United States Army at Ft. Benning and at the Pediatric ear, Nose, and Throat of Atlanta. In 2006 at Auburn University, she helped pioneer a way to obtain normative data on oto-acoustic emissions in puppies. The findings were then published by the American Academy of Veterinary Research.

    She is trained and certified in Vestibular Evaluation and Treatment. Dr. Cellino is also a pediatric diagnostic specialist and Director of Audiology for The Medical Center NICU. Dr. Cellino is a clinical supervisor for Auburn University Doctoral students as well as past president of the Georgia Academy of Audiology and often lectures at the request of various organizations, such as retirement homes or parent groups. She has also held certification in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association for the Clinical Practice of Audiology since 2008.

    Finding Your Avatar Patient with Richard Kaner

    Richard Kaner is the co-founder of Brooklyn Audiology Associates which he grew to the largest private practice in Brooklyn! He is also the co-author of the book, Break Free of Hearing Loss! 

    Following Mr. Kaner’s clinical studies in audiology, he completed a master's level original research project in “Sound Quality Measures of Different Transducer Types” and ultimately completed a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders. He has since pursued a career in private practice audiology and hearing loss treatment. He felt this was the best and most effective way to educate patients and their families about the effects of not treating hearing loss as well as the resulting impact on the brain.

    Over the past four decades, Mr. Kaner has treated nearly 100,000 patients with hearing loss. He stays motivated by the millions more with untreated hearing loss who are not attaining the quality of life they are capable of. His ultimate goal is to change the stigma associated with hearing loss, and by doing so, to increase the cognitive function of people as they age.

    Hearing Loss, Diabetes, Dementia Care and More! with Dr. Kathy Dowd

    Dr. Dowd has been an audiologist for 44 years working in ENT clinic settings, school systems, state education agencies, nursing homes and private practice clinics. Her experience ranges from hearing and balance assessments, auditory processing assessments, IEP and school expertise for children with hearing loss. In 2011 
    Dr. Dowd reached out to the Centers for Disease Control regarding hearing loss and balance associated with diabetes. After 10 years, CDC now has guidelines for audiology inclusion in diabetes care. Dr. Dowd is currently working with CMS Division of Nursing Homes to raise awareness of the critical need for hearing assessments in advance of cognitive and mental health assessments for better resident care and quality of life. CMS is aware of the need for better assessments for hearing in this setting.

    Global Leadership In Audiology with Rob Shepheard

    Rob Shepheard is a Consultant and a Clinical Audiologist. Rob worked for 38 years in hospitals and clinics, helping assess and treat people with hearing and balance disorders. He specializes in auditory rehabilitation, tinnitus treatment, and prevention of induced auditory conditions. For the last 25 years in addition to his clinical role, he has worked in diverse environments from industry to motorsport preventing sound-induced auditory injury. In 1999 after working with motorsport teams, he was invited to present on 'risk of exposure to noise in motorsport' at the inaugural safety summit of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). In 2000, he was asked to undertake research on the subject of Formula 1. In 2008, he presented at the FIA Institute's safety summit in Bahrain on best practice hearing conservation in the sport. He was the British Society of Audiology's advisor on hearing conservation and prevention of hearing loss on NHS England's 2015 Action Plan on Hearing Loss.

    He is currently an audiologist for the Royal College of Music, Healthy Conservatoires Network, and the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine. For the BAPAM and HCN, he has co-authored with his colleague Dr. Finola Ryan, best practice guidelines published by BAPAM to protect the auditory health of all performers and musicians in the UK. He is an audiologist for the UK Night Time Industries Association, representing over 1,300 UK venues and event organizers. He is chair of the UK Hearing Conservation Association’s Music and Entertainment SIG, and a UK expert sitting on the UK and European CEN technical committees responsible for the regulatory standards relating to hearing protection. He is also an active member of the World Health Organization’s Make Listening Safe working group and was a minor contributor to the global standards for safe listening in venues and events published by WHO.
