ACRA 2.0, Internet Research, Therapy Dogs from Philly and How to Grow the Game: A Convo With Sam Hoegle
An awesome conversation with American Collegiate Rugby Association President Sam Hoegle. How did her rugby journey lead her to helping revive the once defunct ACRA and then running it? What does she think it means to "grow the game"? Did she prefer to play center or fly-half? Do dogs from Philly have the temperament to be therapy dogs? Find out the answers to these questions and more on this episode of THE DRINK-UP: A College Rugby Pod, part of the Rugby Wrap Up Network.

Future CBA in the MLR?
Fellas, … big fan of anyone out there making rugby content. I do have some questions tho… after listening to your draft recap, all I heard was the positive aspects of the draft. Can we get a contrarian view for some balance? Why is it that we have a system (the MLR draft) which dictates where players must play in their first year out of college with no official player representation to sign off on this method? Is it concerning to you that at best first year draftees are making 12-15k a year (again, … at best) and yet the league has still refused to recognize the USRPA or any form of a player representation group?
As a couple lads covering the college scene, I was hoping for a little balance on behalf of the players … this can’t continue like this! If the league is going to boast about their strides in professionalism, yet still refuse to acknowledge player representation or be open to collectively bargaining with the players, then we are on a scary road with the way things are shaping up. Love the show, would love to hear your thoughts on this (be brave and speak your mind)!
Ps: 5 stars for the Drink Up Pod
