New episodes on the 1st and 15th of every month!
The demands of life and society are ever-changing and our world is spinning faster and faster. Sometimes it feels like not only are we expected to live in this world, we’re expected to balance it all and conquer it all.
But do we really need to do it all? How do we find inner peace for ourselves when our world feels far from peace? That’s what we will explore by having REAL conversations with a wide variety of servant leaders about their drumbeats.
A drumbeat is what keeps someone motivated, keeps their joy alive, and what fills their cup every day, week, month, or year. Drumbeats can come from philosophers, therapists, fry cooks, religious teachings, or personal experiences. As your host, I seek to learn how you and I can implement these drumbeats to better our own lives and relationships.
There’s a beautiful drumbeat inside of every one of us. Let’s discover it together!

This week's guest is witty and wise Kimberly Stuart. When Kim transitioned from teaching ESL to a stay at home mom to her young kiddos, she felt an unmistakable calling to the written word. In this episode Kim talks to us about intentions and boundaries when you hear your drumbeat and start following its call. She urges anyone who is starting to pursue a new (or revisit an old) passion to carve out time for it wherever you can and communicate with loved ones about your workload during busy seasons of your life. Kim also shares her experience finding out who her biggest cheerleaders are - and how you can suss out those special people in your life.

This week's guest is Branden Terrell. Most people have never heard of Branden - and if you have, what you've heard may be shocking. Until recently (September 2022, to be exact), Branden was incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison for an extremely serious offense. During his ten years and seven months in prison, Branden underwent a major personal and spiritual transformation and now strives to help others do the same.
In this episode, Branden and I discuss healthy ways to approach new beginnings. Branden shares his hopes, anxieties, and challenges when he had to restart his life after ten years of incarceration, and what you can take from that and apply to your own restarts. Whether it's a new job, moving to a new city, or rebuilding after a loss, there's something each of us can learn from Branden.
