It's a new day. And most importantly, it’s a brand new year. I think it’s fair to say that we’re all glad to put 2020 behind us … and yet, if we’re honest with ourselves, we’re likely struggling with an uneasiness about the days ahead. This uneasiness is precisely why I chose to feature Operation Smile today. Not only because they do tremendous work around the world. But because we all need to be reminded that even when a situation seems absolutely hopeless … there is hope. My guests today join me to share Operation Smile’s remarkable mission to help children worldwide who suffer from cleft palates and cleft lips. This condition often marginalizes … limits … and steals away a person’s confidence. Joining us from Operation Smile: Lizet Campos from Lima, Peru. And John Streit from their Headquarters in the U.S. This is the story of new beginnings. And hope restored. #OperationSmile #Hope https://OperationSmile.org | #TheEdgeOfAdventure #podcast and #radio show. https://TheEdgeOfAdventure.com | #AdamAsher #BeyondStatusQuo | https://AdamAsher.com

Off the coast of southeast Africa lies the island nation of Madagascar, arguably the most unique and diverse location on the planet.
Approximately 85% of the plants and animals found here are found nowhere else on Earth. The culture, the people, and the language are all unique. So beautiful is so many ways.
And yet the poverty here is devastating. More than 70% of Malagasies live on about one U.S. dollar per day.
Join Adam Asher now as Mark Jacobs spends a few minutes on the podcast. He’s the Managing Director of SEED Madagascar. He loves this island, its people and environment.

Barefoot College: Worldwide
People in rural villages, in remote regions around the world, are often forced to leave their homes and their communities in search of a better life. When this happens, these people leave behind the beauty of their heritage, their culture, and even their language. So much is lost in the pursuit of opportunity. And that’s why my guest today, and the organization he works with, have determined to take the opportunity to them.
Listen in as Adam Asher's guest, Rodrigo Paris from Barefoot College, tells us how they’re helping the women in rural villages, in 93 countries worldwide, to become solar power engineers. Bringing light and hope to their hometowns.
