The Embrace Race Podcast

The EmbraceRace podcast brings you the best and latest advice on how to guide kids around race by bringing you conversations with researchers and practitioners. The podcast is hosted by co-parents and EmbraceRace co-directors, Melissa Giraud and Andrew Grant-Thomas, and features questions, voices and stories from the larger EmbraceRace community (that’s you!). The podcast is an extension of the work of EmbraceRace, a community of support for caregivers, parents, educators, and other adults in the lives of kids who strive to be informed, thoughtful and brave about race so that their kids can be too. At EmbraceRace, we create and curate the tools, community spaces, and networks we all need to raise a generation of kids who are resilient, empathetic, critical thinkers on race and who are committed to racial justice.

Necessary for all families!

I was introduced to this podcast through the, Truth Be Told podcast. Although, I don’t have children. After listening to the first episode, I instantly knew there are many conversations needed with my nieces & nephews. It’s easy to assume children don’t see race, but their environment has a huge influence on how they see the rest of humanity. Just recommended the show to both of my Sisters! Thank you both for creating a show needed in these times.

This podcast is a beautiful combination of brains and heart. As a White lady working on my own approach to racism, and also trying to support kids in my life on their anti-racist journeys, I am finding it soooo helpful and interesting. Each episode includes a mix of research, straight talk about the dynamics of racism in the US, and concrete strategies adults and families can use to navigate racial issues more effectively. The hosts Melissa Giraud and Andrew Grant-Thomas are thoughtful, down-to-earth, and very human in their approach, and they do a wonderful job of framing complicated concepts so they are both clear and nuanced. Please listen and share.
Amazing Hosts!

Just listened to my first episode and am so excited that this new podcast has launched. I love the way the hosts do an audio pullout multiple times mid-episode to shed more light or give examples about the topics the interview guest is discussing. It adds an even deeper richness to the discussion and audio experience. I will be a better parent for listening to this podcast! Thanks for making more space in the pod-verse for discussions about race and multiracial kids.
