Youth Collective members Georgia and Louis sit down for a genuine conversation about their personal journeys, professional struggles, and the creative freedom they are looking for. The pair discuss imposter syndrome, comparing lives of peers, what opportunities they've managed to take and create, and exceptions within life. Both being from Northern England they reflect on the inspiration and love they've found in their surroundings, and sharing projects they've done big and small.  Georgia and Louis share their honest takes on the lack of opportunities within the creative industries, how they'd like to have the space to take more risks, and how ultimately, they want to hear more daft questions.     🚨 The Emergency Room: Community within Design 🎙️ Hosted by Yusuf Uddin & Louis Shepley Join us for a conversation with Kevin Green & Taiye Ige from STORE STORE, a shop and educational space that hosts a weekly After School Club for young people. Participants learn with practicing artists and designers to develop their own products, learn practical skills and build portfolios in art, design and architecture.  Kevin and Taiye shared the story behind STORE STORE, explaining how they turned a retail space into a hub for community-led design. They also reflected on the lessons learned from running their After School Clubs and offered invaluable advice for the next generation of makers. Kevin and Taiye talked about how STORE STORE started, why it's necessary to have programmes like this to equal the playing field and share advice for young creatives.

    🚨 The Emergency Room: Surviving & Thriving in the Music Industry 🎙️ Hosted by Scarlett Smith & Georgia Madden Join us for a conversation with Georgia Davies of The Last Dinner Party, hosted by members of the Youth Collective. Georgia shared tips on finding like-minded creatives, gave insights into entering the music industry, told us why TLDP are activists as well as artists, and talked about what the future looks like for the band. We’re joined by: ✨Georgia Davies -  Bassist from The Last Dinner Party, a 5-piece Baroque pop, rock band from London. Formed in 2021, The Last Dinner Party have two studio albums, their debut Prelude to Ecstacy (2024) reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, they are BRIT award recipients and have toured across the world. The band has established a reputation for using their platform for social and political activism, particularly surrounding Palestinian rights, political censorship in the music industry, and supporting grassroots venues. Craft, Courage and Creative Survival? 🎙️ Hosted by Selina Candengue & Ummi Hoque This episode explores what it really takes to build a life in making — financially, emotionally, and socially — and how community spaces like Blackhorse Workshop challenge who feels allowed to enter that world in the first place. It becomes a conversation about creative survival, not just creative success. We’re joined by: ✨Jo Clarke - Director of Blackhorse Workshop. She is an artist and maker with 20 years’ experience in the non-profit sector, leading creative community-based programming, mainly in East London. She has worked in social enterprise and cooperative development, and is the founder of London Green Wood CIC. She’s also a Trusteeat Rosetta Arts, with a focus on community participation. ✨Lucy Martin - Creative Programme Manager (Schools and Young People). Lucy is an experienced creative youth practitioner and journalist who has worked with young people to produce documentaries, podcasts, and photography exhibitions alongside craft-based youth programmes. She is the founder of Studio Sikoki, a design + art + research facility where she explores the dynamics between the object, user and the environment. Alafuro’s work analyses the construction of culture, history and identity of the individual, community and location.  ✨ Jennifer Reid, her work is rooted in archives and oral histories, it  braids nineteenth-century music with the present: teaching, performing, researching, sharing, advocating and supporting spaces for memory and making in the tradition. They have worked with organisations including The Octagon, HOME, the University of Salford, Contact, The Lowry, Dibby Theatre, and more. Alistair Charles Wilkinson is a Creative Director working across football, live performance, heritage, and immersive storytelling. With over 15 years’ experience, he specialises in bold, co-created cultural work that activates imagination and centres care. Alistair was the first ever Creative Lead at the National Football Museum, and has led on artist development at The Old Vic and Punchdrunk. Through his company, Life’s a Pitch Projects, he collaborates with athletes, clubs, fans, and communities to explore football’s radical creative potential. Constantly in pursuit of excellence, Alistair prides himself on working with audacious, charismatic collaborators who aren’t afraid to drag mud through the carpets. They are also the founder of WoLab, a seven-year programme that supported 500+ artists to take creative risks. Alongside this, Alistair regularly works as a fundraiser, access support worker and wellbeing practitioner – always championing care, ambition and the structures that help artists thrive. Simon Pollard is a freelance theatre director and acting coach for film and TV, working primarily in musical theatre. He is currently working on Blitz, directed by Steve McQueen, and runs a theatre company called Rebel Theatre. He is also an Education Associate for the Old Vic Theatre.
