Talking football, loss, grief and mental health with Danny Andrews
Welcome back to the poddy wonderful soul.
On this weeks episode of The EMpowering PATH Podcast, I am joined by my life and business partner Nick Edgar and our special guest, Danny Andrews.
Danny is a radio presenter at Surrey Hills Radio, speaker, fundraiser, ambassador for Mindfest and a huge advocate for supporting mental health and breaking the stigma.
In this vulnerable episode, Danny shares the challenges he faced in his childhood including the relationship with his father and the falling out of love with football after an injury. Danny shares tales of his beloved Grandad, John Andrews, who sadly lost his fight to Parkinsons' Disease earlier this year and how Danny has been navigating his grief since. Danny recently raised a huge £2615 for Parkinson's Disease in honour of his Grandad, where he delivered a 30-hour charity broadcast. This is alongside a long list of charity fundraising that Danny has completed. We absolutely loved this conversation and we hope you do too.

Chatting addiction, trauma and mental health with fellow ACoA, Carrie-Ann Stevens
On addiction awareness week 2023, I am chatting to the wonderful Carrie-Ann Stevens. Carrie-Ann is the Founder of Mind Body Balance Academy, an academy dedicated to supporting those in the community who are experiencing barriers to movement and mental and emotional health support. Carrie is a qualified personal trainer, gym instructor and England Boxing Coach with a huge passion for people's mental and emotional health. Like me, Carrie is a fellow adult child of an alcoholic and we connected through the incredible Nacoa charity. Losing her mum to liver failure, aged 19 is the driving force behind the incredible work Carrie-Ann is doing in the world. I am beyond excited to be having such important conversations and be breaking the stigma around addiction, trauma and holistic health.
