Be careful and critical

The people interviewed are not always experts in the subject being discussed - which means they can be off the mark from foundational understanding upwards. In this way this platform can amplify misunderstanding of a subject. It’s arrogant and dangerous to get obviously extremely intelligent people to speak on a subject that they are passionate about - but not experts in. An engineer or statistician, for example, can provide a very insightful perspective on health, but ONLY as part of a team. Whereas a subject matter expert can provide information as an INDIVIDUAL. This is because subject matter experts (and others in a scientific team) will challenge each other’s misconceptions and pick up on errors and assumptions - that is how science progresses - not by one person’s opinion on a matter.
